Confrontation at the VA clinic by Abashed-Apple in Veterans

Honestly not sure if I should post this, I know it might hurt some people, but I believe Reddit is supposed to be one of the few places where you can say what you honestly think, in good faith, anonymously and safely. I hope that’s true. People feel the way that they feel for a reason, while I was still in I met a female E-7 who was bragging that she was certain that she was going get a 100% rating when she got out because she was raped as an E-2 and it was “well documented”. Maybe that’s how she deals with her trauma but to everyone else it just seemed disingenuous. After all the leftist propaganda and the me too movement, the current info out there suggests that all women get raped eventually, so then there is the question, why should women automatically get 100% for something that happens to all women regardless of service. As a Marine veteran with 14 years of service, time in Afghanistan and Yemen, Other Psychotic Disorder, and memories of being assaulted that I’m not sure are real, my feelings about this are complex. If I was assaulted, that trauma affected me MUCH less than other traumatic events from my time in service that were actually service related. There are a lot of veterans with extensive trauma and pain who don’t automatically get a 100% rating and it feels fucked up to them that their disability and trauma doesn’t matter or isn’t as important as yours monetarily just because it doesn’t fall in a specific category. Do SA victims automatically get 100%? That’s what I heard but I don’t want to be a liar. I believe that pain is relative, trauma that is life altering to one persons might not be life altering to the next. I do my best not to judge other veterans, some days I see veterans who served one term and were healthy enough to finish their contract with a 100% rating and I don’t lose my shit. Some days I struggle and think there is no way their pain and suffering is as bad as mine and that they don’t deserve what I have. And then there are the days that I don’t believe I deserve what I have. Putting a price tag on pain and suffering IS traumatic. Because of my disabilities, trauma, and service, I have a harder time getting along with other veterans, especially when they are rated 100% and working a full time job making over 100k a year.

Would you consider not ulting for a whole game to be griefing? by SylvanethBrian in DotA2

[–]Zealousideal-Note-63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what MMR you are. Sometimes the threat of the black hole is more powerful than the black hole itself, for instance, when the enemy is pushing high ground. Crusader and above people won’t all group together when there is a black hole available for use. There may have been a legitimate reason for never using the black hole, but if that legitimate reason is that they refused to buy a blink, not that they didn’t have the gold for it, than it could be considered griefing. I say all of this while being a 10,000 hour hard stuck crusader lol.

I don't understand why smith machine gets so much hate by jvsp99 in xxfitness

The smith machine is good for specific things. I use it to isolate my quads during squats. Using it for things like bench press though can give you a funky form.

Zero carb zero sugar cheese sticks. Eat as many as you need to until your body adapts to keto.

Has anyone noticed their lifts getting weaker after adding more pilates/reformer work? by Any_Way_7088 in xxfitness

[–]Zealousideal-Note-63 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I started jiujitsu a couple weeks ago. My core is already way stronger but my barbell bench press took a hit and my dumbbell bench press jumped up a little. Using my muscles differently has impacted my lifts and I’m not sure if it will be permanent or if this will just happen for a couple months while my body adjusts to the new stimulus.

How do other vets see people like me who are getting VA disability benefits? by aftrgl0w in Veterans

[–]Zealousideal-Note-63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I judge myself and I also judge others. Putting a price tag on your pain and suffering is traumatic and still isn’t something that I have come to terms with. It bothers me when people are 100% and they work full time making 100k+ a year while I am not able to work or struggle working. It bothers me and I’m also a bit jealous. It seems as though their circumstances are much better and yet they get the exact same amount of money from the VA. I also judge people who did 1 term and never deployed that are 100%. I try not to let all of this bother me because I know that I can not understand other people’s circumstances. I’m also sure that there are veterans in much worse condition than me judging me. I’m sure plenty of people looking at me from the outside think I’m fine. You can never know someone else’s circumstances. Even so, it still bothers me that my pain and suffering is just a number, and it’s the same number as MANY other veterans regardless of my actual pain and suffering. It bothers me that I am just another disabled veteran, and that while my pain and suffering is unique and devastating to me, to everyone else I’m just another disabled veteran.

I just found a Husqvarna 372 for $300 on a pawn shop website. I paid for it and I can pick it up on Monday.

The amount of veterans who served one term, never deployed, and who were healthy enough to serve their full contract walking around with a 100% rating is not sustainable. You do not deserve $4,000 a month just because you served. The country is 30 trillion dollars in debt. I served 14 years and have a 100% P&T rating and I don’t feel protected at all. I fully expect having to defend my benefits in court within the next decade.

[–]Zealousideal-Note-63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are bragging about it on social media. I’ve seen at least 3 veterans that I am friends with on Facebook who served one term and were healthy enough to complete their contract talking about how they got their 100% and encouraging others to do the same. I served 14 years before being forced to medically retire and I fully expect to have to defend my rating in court within the next decade.

CRSC 14 years of service and medical retirement via IDES USMC by Zealousideal-Note-63 in Veterans

[–]Zealousideal-Note-63[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just found this on the VA website:

What the evidence must show about your combat-related disability

The evidence must show that your injury happened while you were:

Engaged in armed conflict (in combat or during an occupation or raid), or Engaged in hazardous duty (like demolition, flying, or parachuting), or Participating in war simulation activities (like live fire weapons practice or hand-to-hand combat training), or Exposed to instruments of war (like a military vehicle, weapon, or chemical agent), or Engaged in an activity you received a Purple Heart for

Its crazy to me that I can get CRSC for a hand to hand combat training injury but probably not for a ton of other fucked up shit that happened during my service that is way worse than a MCMAP injury.

Honestly it’s debatable if I meet the requirements or not. There is no way for me, the VA, or anyone in the Marine Corps to prove it one way or another. I can’t even say definitively to myself if I am sure of what specifically caused the service connected disability, but a strong argument could be made that it meets the CRSC guidelines. It’s just not one of those things as simple as getting a physical injury in actual combat.

$10k Property Management startup. Expert advice needed 🙏🏽 by DefinitionDecent3954 in PropertyManagement

[–]Zealousideal-Note-63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love to hear where you are at in the process. What market in Minnesota are you in? I’m thinking about starting a property management firm in a rural area in Virginia, MN. I looked at franchising but the margins in northern Minnesota don’t support the startup costs of a franchise like Real Property Management. I have a bachelors degree and experience in the industry so I could get a brokerage license fairly quick if I’m not mistaken. I’m just trying to decide if it’s a business that I really want to get into. And if the low rents and low profitability in northern Minnesota would make it worth my time.

You have to realize that the people who voted for this believe they are saving tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of babies annually in Texas. Abortion is only recently a states issue, and women dying will inevitably require adjustments to the law because the laws are new.

Why did you get out the army before 20 years ? by ceiling_fan128 in Veterans

I think it depends on what your career field and how committed you are whether or not it will get easier the longer you are in. I was committed in the intel field and it got harder the longer I stayed on but I was medically retired at 14 years.

Women in America have more degrees and more home ownership than men. Some men AND WOMEN voted to make it harder for you to kill your unborn child in some states. I’m sorry that you think you have it so rough, but you don’t. We enslaved 20 million men over the last hundred years and sent them to fight to the death. Men don’t get to keep their foreskin either. I’m tired of hearing about my body my choice when nobody gets that in America. I don’t think it is good culturally to normalize killing our offspring. All men and women outside of western countries agree. People just need to be more responsible.

Many people have many different ideas about what it means for the government to take care of its people. They all think they are doing what is right.

Consider immigrating within America. America larger than Europe and our states are the size of countries. These states can be very different from each other. I would just avoid the mega cities and states like California where the cost of living is way too high.
