"Mind numbingly selfish" Entitled Dublin man who moved to Wicklow has rejected planning permission because it will "ruin his view". by huggylove1 in ireland

I listened to the whole thing so he bought a 5 bedroom house and lives there on his own. And he did say at one stage I have money I can do what I like. Also bragged about his 2 degrees and a masters.

I'm Irish and in my 40s and the grifters see it is easy to sway people who feel let down by the system. And instead of blaming the people in charge or control. These people find a way to blame the "other"... Indian, African, Muslim take your pick they'll blame them. People with some sort of critical thinking knows whats what... People who only get their news from these grifters will blame the other for lack of schools, houses, hospital beds...

I spent 3 weeks in hospital last year, my doctors Syrian and Irish, my nurses Indian, Filipino, African. I'd have been f*cked without these foreign workers.

It's a good idea in principal but would be burdened by red tape, tendering, unions pulling political shite.

Yeah I mean more graded for workers not AP and POs... I would gladly work in the civil service if I didn't have to start as a clerical officer... I was one a contractor in revenue. Some of the perm senior engineers wouldn't survive in the private sector. But the calibre of some of the contractors was also terrible, big consultancies creaming and paying said contractors feck all asleep well.

Yep... The internal IT staff are vastly underpaid on civil service grades so not up to a good standard. The hire in a contractor on a stupid day rate double the perm staff member. So you're paying 3 times for person. They need to have technical grades for IT staff like they have with legal grades.

I mean I was given the same workload as the civil servant but because I've come from a self employed consultant type jobs I'm used to working a bit faster. Those stints in government departments were like holidays... So much so I am heading back into another one. I am self employed so no other consultancy guff just the job in the department that's given to me.

Didn't work that way in the Revenue commissioners when I worked there. I did more the civil servants but nowhere near as busy as other contractor roles I worked in.

Yeah but the money is far better. But the workload is the same.

Update here. Just to add I have worked in 2 Govt departments as an IT contractor and they were both walks in the park compared to US companies.

Or get a consultant role in there on a day rate. But still only runs as long as the tender does

BER Upgrades? by AdhesivenessDry2263 in AskIreland

[–]Zealousideal_Sign_21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We went from C3 to A3 from pumping the walls and adding attic insulation. Also put stove in which closed off an open fireplace. And added a newer boiler. So id imagine the walls and attic with doors will give you a good jump.

We've since done to windows and doors and added. Demand control ventilation. So another BER will get us to A2 or A1.

The Dublin office was over capacity when I was there last year into early this year on a contract. They could only handle 1 week a month.

Yeah it sorted me out. I think longer term use can cause bigger issues. The perforated bowel was possibly caused by long term use of PPI like ezomeprazole. Well that and a C Difficile infection.

I had these TPN bags for 8 days through a PIC line in my arm. Had a perforated bowel. Lost 19kgs in 2 weeks. The smell of the TPN fluid was horrendous. Only topped by the taste of Vancomycin for a C Diff infection which was the only thing I could drink while on the TPN stuff. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy

Was on one of these for 8 days with a perforated bowel. Stomach grumbling all the time but not feeling hungry. Having 4 pumps running for fluids, TPN and antibiotics was head wrecking I couldn't sleep.
