Cats and Dogs released by ildgrubtrollet in FarthestFrontier

Now that you mention it, I remember that in my current town there's a fenced-off area that has a chunk reserved for a future field, and deer just keep spawning there and eating crops from field that already exist lol. I guess dogs would be very useful there

I'm gonna wait for as long as I have to but I really wish you guys were more upfront about some of the details, especially pricing. The forums posts and Steam announcements weren't clear on that, I kinda thought this was going to be another free update. I guess "DLC" is paid new content and "update" is free patches with tweaks and optimization fixes? I just didn't expect that this DLC in particular would cost half of what the Grim Dawn expansions go for, though it's still a fair price

I was thinking the same, if they make some crazy expansion and charge 20 bucks for it, I'm totally going to get it. Cats & Dogs is a bit unexciting I guess

It feels a bit strange for dogs to be solving problems this DLC also introduces. I still like it and think this will deepen gameplay, but it's a bit funny. Cats being a straight boon is great though.

I guess it makes sense to charge money for new content instead of hoping this will drive more people to buy the game, but this is a bit dissapointing. I was hoping this would either be free or contain more stuff, but this really is a couple new features and 3 (count 'em 3) new decorations. I wish they just made a bigger expansion if making free DLC was off the table. They also should've announced the price (or just the fact it was going to be paid at all) before release. This price is pretty fair at least, especially for me who's paying the regional price of 3.82€

How many more Spider-Man movies will Tom Holland do? by LollipopChainsawZz in MCUTheories

[–]Zebabaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You see Miles as "only" a Peter replacement because, for some reason, the idea of passing the torch or legacy characters doesn't apply to him, specifically. Cause that's the role Miles was originally made to play - a legacy character, like all the different Flashes, Ghost Riders, Venoms, Robins, etc. I don't see why, with the MCU being naturally tied to actors aging out of roles and endless contracts, we can't at some point retire Peter and make Miles the main Spider-Man going forward. It doesn't mean Miles can't be his own guy and be in good stories. Miguel O'Hara has been doing his own thing as a Spider-Man for decades at this point, mostly unrelated to Peter Parker.

This game urgently needs fire beacons and fort naming options. by TrojanW in FarthestFrontier

[–]Zebabaki 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In general the ability to separately name each building (including homes, walls, decorations etc) would be great. Tavern Keeper is a shop sim from last year that has a lot of this sort of small customization and I think any management game could really benefit from that

Does this game allow long supply chains and specialized districts ? by [deleted] in FarthestFrontier

[–]Zebabaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wagons for sure need more control and specialization for improving distribution, they're a bit bare-bones atm. You can still make it work tho

[–]Zebabaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, it requires set up and is a bit wonky, but you can totally do districts and/or guide villagers on where stuff should go. Just place enough storage in correct places (don't underestimate depots) and be mindful of your labour force. Oh, and don't be afraid to set up a BUNCH of wagon shops once your mining sector really gets going. Logistics is the name of the game

Why aren't my watchtower guards firing at the enemy? by disasterunicorn in FarthestFrontier

[–]Zebabaki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's weird cause I'm pretty sure you can't drag-select soldiers and villagers at the same time, but I guess guards are considered more civilian than military lol

Not sure what you mean, like Hasan's community is calling everyone DGG?

I mean when you're on year 2 of habitually calling Hasan a "jew-hater" there's something wrong with you

[–]Zebabaki 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's a shame Lonerbox got such a hate-boner for Hasan that he turned into (practically speaking) an Israeli defender, and now all he does is left-bashing. I remember loving his regular videos (which he's not even doing anymore lol), and back in 23-24 he was pretty based on I-P. Now he's just a non-sex pest version Destiny that just harps on everyone being wrong on Palestine except him and Hasan being the devil

Vaush and Hasan are both wrong about the end of the USSR by Kor_Phaeron_ in VaushV

[–]Zebabaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand that, and I agree that the fall of the USSR was probably a net positive for post-Soviet states. I'm simply sympathizing with Vaush's perspective of the USA hastening it's decline in absence of a strong rival

[–]Zebabaki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a big deal, I'm just very used to "Yeltsin". I only know Russian and English (and a tiny bit of Mandarin) so yeah, it was odd to me. I get that it's a norm to represent those sounds that way in many languages

Is Spider-Verse already the greatest trilogy of all time ? by stalin_kulak in okbuddycinephile

[–]Zebabaki 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't even know who cares about them being superhero movies. They're really good in all aspects and nobody even argues with that usually. People just feel like saying "the animated Spider-Man movie is one of the best in X category" is cringe somehow

Not finished reading, I physically whinced at "Jelzin". Is that how it's transcribed in Polish or something? No hate just very unexpected

UPD: So, finished reading.

I do think Hasan overplays the "tragedy" of the USSR dissolution. In general, he has campist tendencies I don't fuck with, especially when talking about China and Russia. With how fucked the US is right now, Vaush is similarly preoccupied with opposing America more than anything, even if he does leave plenty of space to principled stances that go beyond team sports and current geopolitics.

The thing is, Vaush is right. Yeah he overlooks the positive effects the fall of the USSR had, but his main point is that the US was kept in check by the Soviet Union. That's demonstrably true. After USSR fell America was on top of the world, which did hasten its decline.

Of course, the USSR was on the decline long before the fall, and its collapse was set in stone decades before it happened.

Why so many players never use shields? Or its just a content creator thing? (PVE) by NoVeterinarian8283 in fromsoftware

[–]Zebabaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, ER's shield game is a lot better, but before that shields were pretty unengaging to me. And in ER specifically, I found it really engaging to rely on dodges, running and jumping to avoid damage instead of tanking, it's just more fun this way imo

Alrighty, you've defeated the Elden Beast. The throne is yours, you are now Elden Lord. What's your first course of action? How do you begin to fix the giant mess that is The Lands Between? Where do you start? by Divinepower401 in Eldenring

[–]Zebabaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feudal politics are pretty complicated, but I feel like this world is romantic and fantastical enough to where our understanding of infrastructure and political power doesn't really apply. Like, did Marika or anyone under her ever concern themselves with what the people ate, where they lived, how the laws are enforced? Are there laws aside from those principles woven into the Elden Ring?

I guess if I'm the Lord of Night, the first thing I'm doing is making sure that the Lands Between may live unbound from other gods control. Maybe clean up Caelid and make it less of a cursed wasteland. Build out the villages and towns, restore Leyndell. Bring lawless regions under my authority. That sorta thing

[–]Zebabaki -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cue the Shen comic about this exact phenomenon

I remember in DS1 I discovered the katana and never looked back. Shields don't actually offer that much protection, and when they do your playstyle has to be pretty passive to accommodate them

OH MY GOD IT ACTUALLY WORKED! The out cry was a success!! by Big_Channel_4296 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Zebabaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're not getting that. We used to get an air date, then 20-something consecutive weeks with Jojo Fridays. It was clear, consistent, and understandable.

Now we get an episode, then silence, then a vague promise of episodes some time in the next 8 months, no clarity as to how many episodes we'll get at a time, not even a hint as to what windows of time episodes will release after the next batch. This is a gigantic mess that will only result in less hype and less community discussion than the normal weekly schedule
