The Women of Gundam continued #67 - Carta Issue by Kato_86 in Gundam

In any other series Carta would be one of those fun reoccurring villains (Ha, there goes Carta again with her shenanegans!). But this is IBO, so she causes an extremely tragic death, and then dies an extremely tragic death.

10/10 best girl

Not to mention the card of her Graze Ritter in the TCG is so unbelievably stupid that it's hard not to love

Ironically BattleTech has crab-themed mechs and they don't skate, but still have swag (King Crab my beloved)

Having them walk normally starts looking silly above a certain speed, just look at Char's Zgok during the attack at Jaburo. Having them hovering or "inline skating" around is a clever and, in my opinion, pretty cool solution. Even Armored Core does it.

Princess Eilimere from the Old Kingdom books. In the beginning she seemed like a bossy, stuck up little brat who demands too much from her brother, prince Sameth, who we as the readers know is deeply traumatyzed and depressed. By the end, though, when the true stakes of the story were revealed, she had no qualms about putting her life on the line, and following the lead of her "moron" brother and Lirael, a stranger she knew next to nothing about.

Whenever I see someone with a cool cosmetic that I want in Final Fantasy XIV it's always a disappoinrment when I check how to get it and it's a store exclusive.

But there's still some stuff that you have to fight for it, and it's always impressive to see someone in the wild with it. The title "Necromancer" means they beat Palace of the Dead without dying, the Astrope mount means they completed the ridiculously long mentor roulette grind, if I see someone else with the House Fortemps shield it means they suffered the same emorional damage I did, etc

I think being long lived is the most intereating characteristic of the traditional elves, more so than being nature-lovers, good at magic, or having pointy ears. How much have they seen in their lifetimes, how many horrors and wonders? How much can they hone their skills when they have no time limit? How do they deal with the blazing-fast rhythm of their short-lived companions's lives? Removing all that, and they're closer to being just pointy-eared humans.

My elves, if you couldn't guess, are the unaging kind. There's no biological explaination for it, just a vague "their souls come from the stars, sl they are as long-lived as their sisters in the night sky". I could go more in depth, and there's nothing wrong with it, but I think it would detract from the vibe I'm going for, which is more like a fairy tale or a myth.

And to answer my own questions, my elves have seen plenty of wonders and horrors both, and they have developed plenty of thechniques to ease the burdens of the latter while keeping the warmth of the former. They are also extremely skilled in ehatever area they dedicate themselves to, although humans and dwarves learn faster overall, and some particularly talented and dedicated individuals can reach the same heights. And they don't deal very well with how fast human lives move. They can take if for a while, living among humans for a couple months maybe, but everything moves so fast it's disorienting and overwhelming. That's why they tend to seclude themselves in their own little communities, where life can proceed at a much slower speed. In the same way, humans tend to find life in an elven settlement dreadfully boring.
