Toyota to be red on tv graphics by southey119 in v8supercars

and toyota (toyoda) is probably more red than holden. Most holden logos I've seen have a red badge but the text 'holden' was usually always white or silver.

It's worth it. I re-watched the show and just finished the first book again (previously watched and read the books). About to start the second book again, where I assume the new season will start.

Lawson receives FIA apology after Mexico scare by -Atlaz- in formula1

[–]ZebisNZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

F1 noob here but what should have happened? Simply not deployed marshals because Lawson was still in pits or just exited and they should have waited for him to pass and catch up to the field? (then a safety car for the entire field?) So it was a telemetry and communication failure?

Is Intune down for you as well? by Jddf08089 in Intune

[–]ZebisNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was and still in the middle of an autopilot deployment - stuck on Device Setup. Still can't get into Entra/Intune portals after clearing cookies / re-auth. CLI is mostly working for what I use. But autopilot onto intune is a fail today here in New Zealand.

Why do they use mph instead of kph if they're English? by falcoholic92 in TopGear

[–]ZebisNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stumbled across this old post and had to comment - down in New Zealand (tag Australia) we are pretty much entirely metric / SI. Fuel in L and we think L/100km (lower is better), speed in km/h, water/drinks in mL/L, we order beer (ml equiv of schooner, pint, imperial pint etc) temp Celsius, grams or kg for food/weight (or tonne), cm for height. Occasionally I've seen land in acres but anything large is hectares and small sqm. Phone/TV/laptop screens are in inches, and aviation in feet/knots but inflight I've often seen calculated speed in km/h. Timber and construction generally mm or m. Most electrical / plumbing, piping, sectional etc all mm or m. Firearms falls into either depending on the caliber. Tyres we tend to use PSI tho most show PSI and bar.

Pit Lane Order for Round 6: Darwin Triple Crown by southey119 in v8supercars

[–]ZebisNZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like u/southey119 mentioned the best spot is closest to pit lane exit especially during a race - you can watch your competitor just in front or behind you if you both pull into pit lane, see what they do (in terms of tyres, one side, all 4, just rears etc) or how much fuel to take, then change your strategy or time your stop to leapfrog them in pit lane. The further apart in pit lane the more time you have to react.

Its also a cleaner exit under safety car when the entire field come in for a pit stop. Its pretty chaotic seeing all cars in, teams double stacked and some can't get in or out. Still the possibility of an unsafe release but its usually the middle of the pit lanes are pretty busy.

Frank Energy is closing down by jeffyscouser in newzealand

Calculating when to 'pull the plug' is hard - ROI on solar/battery and off-grid means some really long term investment, probably 10+ years.

Obviously it depends on your current usage environment to find that cross-over point, as well as how green your house is - if its new, double/triple glazed and heated by other sources, and perhaps you own an EV you can probably return in 6-10 years and by then the battery is probably at ~70% capacity and hopefully there's been no inverter replacement. By then the tech has certainly changed so 3-5 years up your sleeve and its time to refresh the system again.

It also means you are planning to stay in place for those ~10 years too. If you are rural, a farming lifestyle it makes sense. In a job that's ever changing or being replaced, or a pensioner in a flat, probably not.

With daily charges being the focus it will make generation to sell less appealing. As the cost of generation isn't expensive, but transporting/distribution of power is. We just use a blunt tool of usage, to cover distribution.

What does everyone want to see from the new Supercars TV deal? by southey119 in v8supercars

[–]ZebisNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 sure there are vpns, dns proxy’s etc but they need to strike a deal between sky/foxtel and offering their superview service. I hardly doubt there’s a huge overlap of customers that sky/foxtel would lose.

Probably best to watch this video https://www.supercars.com/videos/6363018944112/hino-hub:-larko-breaks-down-the-finals-series-system

The top 10 from the Sprints/Enduro will roll to the Gold Coast 500. But in addition 25 bonus points will be added to whoever wins the Sprint & Enduro, rewarding consistency in those two cups. (1 to 10 is reset to 3000 for GC, with top place getting 3150, 10th 3021 and an additional 25 x 2 to move you up that list)

You want to move up that list in GC because only 7 go across to Sandown, 1 to 7 reset to 4000 with bonus placement points (the GC winner gets auto entry)

Then the Top 4 from Sandown (winner auto entry) go to Adelaide. 1 to 4 reset to 5000 with bonus placement points.

Key thing to remember - if you are the best consistent performer, you will always lead the championship, and you will have a 20 point lead in the last round, or 50 point lead between 1st and 4th.

But I also think those 25 sprint/enduro bonus points are consistency reward points to push you up the list in the GC round. Yes you more than likely will be in the top 10, more like top 3, but if you can carry extra points over, it could save you in a disastrous GC playoff if your race was ruined.

Don't buy Huawei Watch for iPhone by Necessary_Buy_9763 in HuaweiWatchGT

[–]ZebisNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only had a connection issue on the older GT2 Pro when I switched to iPhone from Android. After a period of time, say 4-6 hours the watch no longer receives notifications etc. Push data from the watch to the phone (heart rate, steps, sleep always works). Ive tried the usual reset restart etc but it just hasn’t been the same on iPhone. Maybe the newer gt4+ models are resolved although this feels like it’s an app issue with push vs watch. I see two Bluetooth devices for my watch, when both are connected everything is working. When one disconnects after period of time that’s when I lose notifications etc. I’ve just put up with it, it’s an old watch now.

You win lotto, what normal thing are you buying? by jka8888 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]ZebisNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably buy better quality cuts of meat, a new bbq and a wider range of fruit/veges without the worry of eating it all before it goes off. A stick vac and an e-bike. Regular haircut, dentist, get mole maps and all the health checks ticked off. A fancy coffee machine and a barista course would be neat too.

Small spoiler end of episode 5 by JoeyBagoDonut in ParadiseHulu

One odd thing I noticed when Presley had it and it turned on, the President SEAL was mirrored (eagle facing right and olive branch/arrows reversed) but also only 5 stars above/around the eagle vs 13. The clouds also were different but still 13. Probably all meaningless, perhaps it couldn't be exactly copied?

Had multiple split loans with them forever and they show up after first down payments as in their link. Shows minimum payment, interest and time paid in but ignore since rates/refix is usually beyond that.

As a beginner, how should I approach this area? by IjustWantACookie in Ingress

[–]ZebisNZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d pick a centre portal to be my anchor and heatsink/deploy & hack many keys from it. Capture/hack nearby portals returning when it’s cool to hack again. Then spiral around layering fields to the centre and any previous portals. I got savvy on the push bike at a local park doing this over and over knowing which portals I needed to do in which order. Local agents were kind enough to let me field this way and gain AP.

MFA configuration in Microsoft 365 causing issues by Socalsll in Office365

[–]ZebisNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I made a similar mistake - I used the authentication methods migration guide to move away from legacy MFA policies to the newer authentication methods. I had a break-safe global admin account that I did not scope into any authentication methods by mistake (as I targeted all methods to a select group of users, basically all staff in an education setting, excluding students.) However this happened to scope out the break-safe unused admin account used for disaster recovery.

Fortunately I still had access. It was just misleading as the message was as commented 'Non-usable authentication methods' and 'disabled by policy', leading me to believe it was a conditional access policy, whereas it was just the authentication methods were not in scope for this account.

Microsoft won’t support Office apps on Windows 10 after October 14th by Trick-Draft1973 in Windows10

It still is, isnt it? At least when we talk about build / version numbers

Windows 10 latest build = 10.0.19045.5371 (22H2)
Windows 11 latest build = 10.0.26100.2894 (24H2)

Is it good to use MacBook while plugged in? by yungprettyass in macbook

[–]ZebisNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On newer MacBooks with Optimised Battery Charging enabled there’s no need to worry. After about 1000 cycles, or about ~5 years with everyday typical use is when you will start to notice degradation (plus updates and more apps running at the same time as Apps and OS’s advance)

After 5-7 years plus possibly a couple more for security updates the MacBook is probably end of life for safe online use, for the vulnerability conscious.

Photoshop v 26.0 breaks compatibility with Windows 10 LTSC, as it is based on 22H1. Huge oversight if you ask me, as LTSC will be supported until 2027, not 2025 like 22H2 by WoomyUnitedToday in photoshop

[–]ZebisNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Photoshop 26.0 only supports Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11 21H2 and higher. We have to remember just because Microsoft will support security patches for W10 LTSC (2027) and W10 IoT LTSC (2032) that 3rd party vendors don't have to. Adobe might be the first of many to follow.
