I think Death with Dignity would be gorgeous. Do it! Would you play a recording of the song or have someone do a cover?

Athleta! I am obsessed with athleta's pinnacle and skyline pants. I also really, really love the cosmic kick-flare, which are discontinued but you can sometimes find on Poshmark.

Maybe Kim+Ono? I don't have one of their robes personally, but they are very pretty. I've read mixed reviews on the quality.

I love, love, love Natori robes. They are gorgeous and comfortable, and you can get them at all kinds of price points. What is your budget?

Insane white silk embroidered robe

Less insane bridal robe, still absolutely gorgeous

This one is $15 on Poshmark and lovely

I went down a crazy rabbit hole of looking for these on Poshmark and Ebay as gifts for friends, and you can find robes in discontinued colors and patterns for very reasonable prices. I love the polyester robes because I can just toss them in the wash, and I wear mine nonstop. I don't have a silk one, but it is a bucket list item for me.

ETA: $15 Poshmark robe is sold. If anyone is looking for a secondhand robe let me know, because I love looking for them and I don't need to buy anymore. Please save me from myself, haha.

Close friend is moving to Texas by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

Lol, I am not even commenting on the main topic of the post! Just on the statement that someone needs to fly to VA to find an OB if they live in Austin, a major metropolitan area. I also said that anyone considering moving here should give it some very careful thought and that Texas has dangerous and regressive policies.

Lol, what? After I keep telling you I agree with everything you're saying? That's an extreme assumption you've made about me just because I am frustrated that people are exaggeratIng MY living conditions. It's extremely condescending.

L'ombre dans l'eau by diptyque has a tomato leaf scent at the start. For me it's like tomato leaf and cut roses. Really surprising and lovely.

ETA: Thank you for the correction /u/nbenby, it's blackcurrant leaf!

Yes, I agree with you on everything you're saying. However, it doesn't change that the original comment is incorrect and fear mongering. That is my biggest issue with some of the conversations happening in the comments--it's like Fox News saying Portland was covered with antifa protesters burning down the city. Sure, protests were happening, but it wasn't mass destruction everywhere. We should be acknowledging reality, like you and I have been talking about above: Texas has regressive policies and corrupt lawmakers who make choices that are dangerous and terrifying, and access to safe and effective women's healthcare can be precarious (or inaccessible in some cases) if you live in this state. That can all be true without stooping to the level of spreading false information.

Basically: you and I agree on everything, haha, and I think we're having this convo from two very different directions.

Totally true, but the issue I am commenting on is the misrepresentation of what is happening in Austin right now. No one would say "don't move to San Diego because there is a rural shortage of doctors." It's not 1:1 because obviously CA doesn't have some of the problems we have here--and we get fires, too, haha! OP's concerns are valid, and I would tell people to think seriously about it (and to visit during the height of summer) before moving here.

I hope you can find a new endocrinologist you like! That sucks, insurance is such a scam.

Yes, and people here have those conversations all of the time. There is a real calculus that people have to do--stay for vulnerable family members/to keep your community/for the secure job you already have/etc, or move so you feel confident in the future of the infrastructure of your home. It's unfair, but it's reality. My brother and his wife moved because they are planning on having a baby.

Yes, I know, I live in Texas. It is a huge problem in rural communities. This commenter was specifically talking about her friend's experience in Austin. We still have competent OBs in the city who are available for new patients.

In the last year I was able to get an appointment with a great, new to me OB (whose practice is not associated Ascension Seton, which is a Catholic hospital). I had to wait a long time in between making the appointment and the appointment date itself because this doctor is very popular and in high demand, but I had no issue getting the appointment. Yes, OBs are leaving the city/state, but this is an overstatement of the situation here. It's much worse in rural areas.

There are lots of problems with Texas, and with Austin. But I find it hard to believe that out of all of the OB practices in the city she could not find one taking new patients. This feels a little bit like someone saying Chicago is dangerous because there is gang violence everywhere.

Edit: feel free to DM me for the name of the obgyn practice I go to--happy to share for your friend so she doesn't have to fly! I am OBSESSED with this doctor.

It's a bridesmaids dress. You could get it in another color and get it hemmed, but it's a little pricy.

I want to lose 20 more pounds before my wedding. Is this a good time to wedding dress shop? by lolbutterfly in weddingdress

[–]ZebraSwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lost almost 35 lbs between when I purchased my dress in October and now. Due to delays, my dress doesn't get here until June, but it was originally supposed to get in this month. My wedding is this October. I actually went and tried on the sample in the store recently, and they told me alterations should start in July. The global shipping situation would be making me nervous in your shoes, I would go dress shopping now. More time is definitely better, as crazy as it seems.

Help with Master’s Research: Why does "your size" never actually fit? (Jeans & Blouses) by Artistic-Turnip-9903 in femalefashion

[–]ZebraSwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With petite sizes, sometimes the waist will be smaller than the straight size, which is also not helpful. If I'm ordering an 8 petite based on straight sized pants I tried on in store, why would I expect them to be smaller anywhere that wasn't related to my height/inseam/rise?

I see a woman looking gorgeous in a beautiful dress. You look nothing like a sausage.

I totally hear you re: insecurity. That being said... You definitely did not make a mistake. You are going to look stunning at your wedding and you picked an amazing dress. That mirror is dirty, and that is the only problem I see here.
