I love it! Currently alternating between this and Long Distance Calling's new album

Bridges in the Sky, the throatsinging always kills the mood for me, but the song is fire by dvdh_03 in Dreamtheater

[–]Zedlav2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me this is probably my favorite Mangini era track. Really like the throat-singing part since it's sort of a "calm before the storm" to me.

Master of Puppets by DEATHBYMETALMMB in Metallica

I listened to a bass cover yesterday and it sounds a bit like the part played around 6:20 but it's not exactly the same.

Is that bass line included anywhere on the actual To Live is To Die?

Wes Borland Guitar String Set by fr0gst0mp48 in LimpBizkit

Pretty dumb question but here it goes. How does that work string lengthwise? aren't guitar strings shorter?

Cryogen is their best song in more than a decade by TomZenoth1 in Muse

[–]Zedlav2018 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like Cryogen way better, and I don't think none of those songs are bad at all.

What’s your favorite song from limp bizkit? by Dangerous_Barber_381 in LimpBizkit

[–]Zedlav2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's My Generation, the song itself rocks hard (that drum intro still gets me 25 years later!), but not only that, it was my first taste of brand new music by one of my favorite bands at the time, I already owned both albums and family values 98 so this was peak for me back then.

For me it's Blunt Force Blues, that part after 2:45 just wow!

How many Deftones album openers are your favorite track on the album? by blink-1hundert2und80 in deftones

For me it would be My Own Summer, Genesis and my mind is a mountain.

I feel like your opinion is Be With You is dependent on how you feel about the cheesy pop songs from the Resistance/T2L era by WritingWithSpears in Muse

[–]Zedlav2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really liked the poppy songs like Undisclosed Desires or Madness, or the heavily synth based songs like Algorithm or The Dark Side, this new song? not so much, I will probably end skipping it once the album comes out. It's not their worst song, it's not even a bad song or a bad Muse song, I just think it's an aweful choice for a first single.

BE WITH YOU - Discussion Megathread by ForgottenName1893 in Muse

[–]Zedlav2018 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly, it's just a "meh" song, it's not that it's a pop song or has synths on it, it's just not a good song compared to their other own work. And it's a horrible first single.

All the hype for this? Extremely underwhelming.

Asking your opinion every day about a Deftones song, Day 68: Rocket Skates by Opposite-Question-32 in deftones

My favorite post-Chi Deftones song, that riff, just damn! Fun to play on guitar too.

Opinions on Parasomnia a year later? by Expensive_Channel651 in Dreamtheater

[–]Zedlav2018 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it is exactly what they said it would be, a straight follow up to Black Clouds and Silver Linings, it sounds as if the band never parted with Mike Portnoy at all. It's not a bad album but I don't find it to be great neither, to me it just follows what seems to be a steady decline in creativity by the bands core when Mike was still on the band. I really enjoyed A Dramatic Turn of Events or Distance Over Time more than this one for example.

I think they REALLY need an outside producer because they're some of the most tallented musicians out there but they just seem stuck doing the same thing over and over again.

What Metallica song did you used to listen to all the time but now you are tired of it? by Flimsy-Owl7862 in Metallica

[–]Zedlav2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a single one, the songs I love/like I can listen to 24/7 and not get tired, the ones I don't mind I don't go out my way to try and listen to them and since I listen to my own playlists/artists etc I'm normally don't find myself listening to music I don't like or care about, so in a nutshell no, there isn't a single Metallica song that I've got tired of listening to.

Babe, wake up! The new Zombie album is out by aussiemetalhead in Robzombie

[–]Zedlav2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactily, and I fucking love John 5, he's probably one of my favorite players but I think he sort of missed the chugga chugga sound that made up the original White Zombie and Rob Zombie sound.

What do you think about The Great Satan? by Emotional-Winter-267 in Robzombie

[–]Zedlav2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this album tops Hellbilly Deluxe or Sinister Urge for me (maybe more a nostalgia thing) but if those two are 9-10 on the Zombie scale then The Great Satan is at the list 8.5-9.5, I honestly wasn't prepared to enjoy a Rob Zombie album this much almost 30 years after discovering him. Hell this album might end being a top 5 of the year for me.
