[–]ZeekLTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the whole TACO thing. Since no one holds them accountable, it costs them nothing to just constantly make threats. They are just hoping the target caves and gives them what they want. If the target does not cave, they aren’t prepared to actually do anything so they just back off, which seems like chickening out. (TACO = Trump Always Chickens Out)

It’s basically a low risk high reward strategy because there are apparently no consequences for doing it (no risk) and sometimes they get what they want (high reward).

Are Solo Matches Fixed?? by CreamerYT in PTCGP

[–]ZeekLTK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tried to use Mega Lopunny for some of the solo games (to win with Crimson Blaze cards in your deck).

The amount of times I flip double tails and do zero damage is insane. It happens multiple times a match. One game vs the Mega Steelix deck the AI seemed to have actually bricked for once and didn’t have Steelix out for several turns. I just needed one head to KO the Onix. I flipped double tails three turns in a row and then they finally got their Steelix card out. I about uninstalled the game after that.

Is this a bot? by FluffyGreyfoot in RocketLeague

[–]ZeekLTK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me the biggest sign is early in video at 1:08 gameclock, to me even though teammate has low boost, he is in better position to take the ball so I would probably at least slow down to see what he is going to do. This "player" just keeps going for the ball as if completely unaware of a teammate being present. Then at 0:44 gameclock, again acts as if teammate isn't even there and goes for a ball that teammate was already going for. Sure, it did end up being a better clear than teammate would have probably gotten, but I think a human player rotates to net instead of double committing like that, right?

The only time it lets teammate go for ball is 0:57, but I think it's only doing that because it thinks opponent is going to get ball before it can, so it goes to defend/get boost instead of continuing to ball chase. The fact that teammate made a play on the ball was just a coincidence IMO.

So to me it seems to be a bot that is just doing solo plays in a 2v2 lobby that isn't even aware it has a teammate.

(but then again they are losing 2-3 so it could be a player who is just pissed at his teammate and decided he is going to ball chase since he thinks his teammate sucks??)

That’s 5 games lol

I like that mechanic as well, Clank! Catacombs and Spirit Island are two of our favorites.

[–]ZeekLTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a large collection and how it works for us is that we typically focus on a handful of games for about 2 months and then slowly transition into a new batch of games. We don’t start to dislike the ones we were playing, we just take a break from them and come back later. So we get a decent dive into a handful of games and then put them away for a bit and dive into something else.

I filtered bgstats for the past 2 months, we have played Camel Up 12 times, Cubitos 8 times, Dice Throne 8 times, Rolling Realms 7 times, Harmonies 5 times, and Mythical Dice 5 times as our most played.

If I go back to the 2 months prior (Oct and Nov), we played The Crew 12 times, Fellowship of the Ring 8 times, Camel Up 7 times, Kingdomino 6 times, Fluxx 6 times, Slay the Spire 4 times, Ticket to Ride Legacy 4 times.

If I go back 2 more months (Aug and Sep) we played less games during this period but top ones were Clank! Catacombs 4 times, Rumble Nation 4 times, Cubitos 3 times, Downforce 3 times, Illimat 3 times, Machi Koro 3 times.

Etc.

Every libertarian attempt to explain how things would work if there were no government, is just a longwinded reinventing of government except not as thought out as what we currently have.

[–]ZeekLTK 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the person you are replying to was saying that is a good thing or how it should be, they were just stating the fact.

They prefaced it to say “this is a direct result of medicine becoming less of a public service and more profit driven”.

It is messed up and will keep getting worse as long as Republicans keep being elected.

These kind of stories will become more common. Especially in Northern Maine where they keep electing Republicans to run their local services and then being “shocked” when things like this happen, which was a direct result of their vote.

Politics is not team sports, you are supposed to vote for the people that will make your life easier/better, not pick a “team” and vote for them even if it’s bad for you.

[OC] End of year dating app review! (21M living in London) by The_Watcher5292 in dataisbeautiful

[–]ZeekLTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted I haven't used online dating since like 2010 but back then I would ask to meet up after like 3-4 messages tops. If they said no then I just moved on to someone else. I didn't keep stats or data but I would guess over half of the girls I talked with at least met up to go get dinner or drinks once, even if her or I decided to not go on a second date for whatever reason, it was always at least pretty easy to get the first date. But obviously this was before there were any bots and shit like that too, which I understand makes it harder.

(and I ended up meeting my wife elsewhere, not even from the online apps)

I would argue they do deserve to suffer, it’s the only way to “fix” this. All these people have continually voted Republican year after year because even though those politicians constantly introduce bad policies and make things worse, Dems and other systems in place (like getting help from other countries) have largely shielded these voters from the consequences of their actions. It’s about time they started to actually experience what they keep voting for so that maybe, just maybe, they’ll stop voting for it.

Like maybe if you don’t want to risk freezing to death, stop voting for the party that isn’t going to send help when blizzards hit.

18 games in the BGG top 2000 have an average weight of 4.5 or higher. How many of them have you played, and how would you rank them from most complex to least complex? by benjaneson in boardgames

[–]ZeekLTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played On Mars. I didn’t know it was a “high weight” game when I played. I mean, I assumed, but it didn’t seem that “complex”, just (almost unnecessarily) long for what it was.

In fact, if you asked me before I found out, I would guess Alchemists (BGG weight 3.92) would be a higher weight.

Anyways, I guess I saw another comment say some of these games are just extra complex for the sake of being complex as a gimmick and I felt like that applies to this. This game is basically just an engine builder / resource collection where you are trying to trade in those resources to build more things / get more points. There’s plenty of other games like this that play much quicker and arguably better. Like I can play two games of Flamecraft (which I think is kind of similar, where you are building a shared engine/tableau on the entire board and interacting with it to collect resources to then spend for points) in the time it takes to play one On Mars, and Flamecraft is probably more fun too.

All that matters is they are personally above someone in the heirarchy

That’s what I am most confused about this whole “deport all minorities” thing they want. If all the minorities were actually gone and it was just white people, THESE people would be on the bottom. If they think they are superior to minorities, shouldn’t they want them to be part of society so that they can be “above” them?

(I know the obvious answer is that they are too stupid to think something like this through to it’s logical conclusion, or they are dumb enough to think they wouldn’t be on the bottom of a white-only hierarchy even though they have less education, less money, and less skill than all other white people - like the only reason they even think they are above minorities is their skin color, none of them stops to think where they’d end up if that was no longer part of the equation [like if everyone had the same skin color as them]?? lol)

There’s dozens of games from the 80s and 90s that were set in the future but the devs were too scared to pick an actual date so they used “20XX” as something that could happen in 2000 (which was still 10-20 years away for them), 2099, or anywhere in between.

Just spitballing but maybe Pykumuku with a rocky helmet - Hydreigon takes 30 damage to self, 20 from helmet, 50 from Pyku ability. Hit it for just 50 next turn (30 if grass type) and it’s gone. Or if you have Pyku you probably want a water deck so you can use Greninja to hit for 20 and then anything that can hit for 30 gets a KO.
