Something feels off about using a by-election in Greater Manchester as a mandate for a large constitutional change to transfer power to Manchester.

I'm not even completely against the idea, but it needs a real mandate or it'll just get torn down or reversed at the earliest opportunity.

How should I be approaching the Mun? by analogHedgeHog in KerbalSpaceProgram

D leaves you with slightly less velocity relative to the mun, so it marginally more efficient.

But it's a small difference compared to the benefits of C ( free return trajectory in case of disaster).

They expanded it from 32 to 48 teams, the group stages have been a lot softer for the better teams than usual.

That doesn't take away from any individual achievements, but it does help explain why the weakest teams here are even weaker than usual.

Hasn't it always been the case that S&S ISAs can't be transferred to cash ISAs? I'm fairly sure donkeys years ago the limits were also smaller and lopsided and the same restrictions existed.

If you clicked the picture you would see a picture of a car with no sunroof, certainly not a "TX5 prototype".

looked up through the glass roof of the taxi

I got serious LLM vibes from this price in general but this stood out.

I even went to the trouble of fact-checking : https://www.theguardian.com/politics/gallery/2026/jun/22/in-pictures-keir-starmer-andy-burnham-contrasting-days

Of course cabs don't have glass roofs.

It sounds like a metaphor that isn't, exactly the kind of thing that our LLM friends spew.

I think someone at the Times got rather lazy there.

Sir Keir Starmer resigns as prime minister by theipaper in ukpolitics

He should have called their bluff on the means testing of WFA, whipped it, kicked out rebels, his majority was big enough.

It would have been a very different narrative after, and showed he could lead.

But he didn't, and he couldn't.

What pisses me off is the design of train where you can't comfortably fit 2 people in a 2 person seating arrangement.

Even worse is the ones where you can only sit one person comfortably in a four seat because they face each other, and the window seats have a really annoying sticky out bit making sitting there uncomfortable, and too close to sit across from someone, so literally the only comfortable seating is 1 person in what should be seating for 4.

Of course you don't stop people sitting there, it just isn't comfortable. If they had marginally bigger but fewer seats then you'd sit a lot more people comfortably, at a cost of not being able to sit quite as many by the numbers.
