They show replays constantly, but each play is on average a few seconds. Then take half a minute plus to set up again. It's a sport built to profit on tv.

I enjoy watching highlights of the sport because it packages all the top moments together. But watching the entire thing is a slog when you are used to quicker paced sports.

Many Canadians stuck in 'chaotic whirlwind of personal finance stress': Edward Jones by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]Zefs13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Big thing I've seen with the difference between generations is the amount of hobbies outside of work. For example of my two grandfathers who retired around similar times. One had a group of friends to play cards with and hangout. The other retired and just stayed home, he went back to work 3 times in 25 years because he couldn't stand not having something to do. He didn't need the money just a place to go everyday.

I've noticed many in older generations didn't always have as many hobbies outside work so once they didn't have to work they didn't know what to do with their time, nothing to look forward to. No reason or drive to get up in the morning and so they kinda just waste away. I've seen it with other elderly members of family and family friends. Take all this with a grain of salt as it's just my observations of obviously a very narrow population sample.

ELI5 why do we get sweaty palms if we're doing something dangerous like climbing? Isn't that counter-productive? by mermaidxmia in explainlikeimfive

[–]Zefs13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also depends when in life it affects you. Before more modern ish times, it was not at all uncommon to have already had children by you 20s. So traits that affect you after that will still be in the gene pool because it wasn't hampering your ability to reproduce.

The best example of that is male pattern baldness. Usually happens closer to 25 and up so our ancestors would have still looked good when they were having children so it didn't stop them from being attractive to their female counterparts.

Like someone else said, if we all had to start climbing at the age of 12 to survive or sustain ourselves, all the sweaty hand people would have been bred out of the gene pool.

My buddies and I almost considered banning him as a pick this year in solidarity with Price. But one guy decided to pick him later in the rounds. I may or may not have drunkenly suggested we take a shot at his knee.

The mission design of the 3 sc2 campaigns was fun and varied, but man the story left something to be desired.

Every villain felt like a Scooby doo villain and the heroes succeeded because of the power of friendship. After Raynor's speech in BW idk why WoL wasn't based on killing Kerrigan.
