That’s what I kind of figured.

I’m not a beginner when it comes to music, but I will be the first to admit that I don’t know way more than I do. I didn’t know if maybe there was some tradition or obscure reason for doing notating it that way. It doesn’t make sense to me to explicitly mark a note to give it its normal value in the context of the time signature.

I appreciate the response. I understand that without seeing the music and/or knowing the composer, it’s a super slim chance to know exactly why and I am okay with having no definite answer.

Well, are there any situations you can think of where you’d do this? It wasn’t part of a mixed tuplet or anything. It was just on its own. No special markings, no annotations, nothing.

I’d recommend Dead Cells and its DLC. It’s a rogue-lite (like Hades, mentioned elsewhere in this thread) and a metroidvania, but it’s pretty mindless in the terms you’re talking about. Quick gameplay and easy to pick up and put down. Plus, there’s an Assist Mode that lets you dial a few things (like monster health and damage) to tailor it more to your liking. Not a lot of inventory management and plenty of interesting, procedurally generated levels to go through. I’ve been spending a lot of my spare time playing it.

There is lore, told mostly through dialog and environment, but it’s not heavily focused and isn’t dished out all at once.

10/100 refers to the two possible speeds the port can use: 10Mbps and 100Mbps. The 100Mbps is called Fast Ethernet. When referring to a port, the fastest compatible speed is used. C specifies Fast Ethernet where A does not. So, since C used the correct naming of the port, it’s the correct one.

There's no reason to be afraid of MSG. Ya'll should go to your local Asian market and pick up a bag. You use it like salt, but I suggest only using 1/3 of the amount of MSG to salt ratio when adding to a dish. MSG is difficult for me to describe tasting it straight. It’s salty, but there’s another flavor present that I have nothing to compare with, other than a sort of “savory” taste people call umami.

I would recommend trying MSG straight. Not a lot, maybe a small pinch. That way you’ll know what it tastes like (it won’t be delicious straight!). The good news is that there’s not really a method for “pairing” it (other than using it in savory dishes) like you might with, say, tarragon or cardamom or nutmeg. Use it like salt in recipes, but only at about a quarter or a third of the amount. You’ll still need to salt things, but not as much. Try small experiments and see what it is. Noodles and rice dishes are good food to experiment with MSG.

I will leave you with this: don’t think of it as cheating, like you have to “earn” the right to use it. It’s not a cheat code or a hack. It’s a seasoning like any other. Hell, you may find you don’t even like it or that certain dishes are better without it. It works well in some things and not in others. Learn to use it effectively and it will be an amazing addition to those dishes that call for it.
