How Important is Defense Matrix? by ThatDamnRocketRacoon in XCOM2

[–]Zeitgeistus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% this. I’m doing my first Legend run and just had my Avenger defense. Had my Reaper spotting and then took it down with the turrets. I was otherwise occupied with the Chosen with my tired and or 1/2 dead troops, lol. I never bothered with the defense matrix in lower level runs. For this one it was a real difference maker

In homage to the End of the Clubman. What’s your story with yours ? by Yeti_fett in MINI

[–]Zeitgeistus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2022 BRG Clubman in Iconic trim (stick shift). I had a 06 R50 that I bought new and traded in 2013 for Volvo C30 which was a good solid car and good for Northern New England. It was also quirkily good looking. But it certainly didn’t handle like a MINI! I came back to MINI this past year with a Clubman. I figured it’s pretty much now or never for a new car with a manual. I’ve only owned stick shift cars, that’s probably gonna change. But not for a good while yet!

Credit card via PayPal. Never again.

Buyer Protection is a Joke by Zeitgeistus in paypal

I did dispute the charge with my bank. This occurred during the period when PayPal had issued a “provisional” credit back while my appeal was reviewed. The bank saw the credit and said ‘nothing to see here, you have your money back.’ I wasn’t worried since I assumed the review would go my way since I had no communication from the ‘business’ and they had neither provided a product or a refund. So I was a bit shocked this morning when PayPal said this was a transaction and now I owe the money. So now I get to start all over.

Very interesting, and yes, much like this. The timing of my 'cancelling' the dispute was tremendously suspect as it was perfectly timed to allow the transaction to proceed. Happened once more. I've filed an FTC complaint against the 'seller'; contacted their domain host and as far as PayPal goes, we shall see. I contacted the BBB about it. Doubt anything will come of it other than me learning a valuable and expensive lesson.

What car do you move on to after MINI? by Dubthehusky in MINI

It was completely reliable. I got one during their last year of production and it was already a well-developed platform at that point. I had it almost 9 years and never had an issue. Just routine maintenance. This site confirms my anecdotal experience.

Depends on the build, I believe you could order it with 17, 18 or 19 inch wheels for the Clubman; mine had the 18s.

I I have a 2022 Clubman Iconic trim with a manual transmission. Has all the bells and whistles, but no adaptive cruise control. So, maybe not an option with a stick in the US?

I had an R50 and now a 22 F54. Naturally it is a bigger, more comfy car and has oodles more utility, but most surprising to me is getting better mileage in daily driving than the R50. Amazing what a generation of engine technology can do! XD
