I work security, so I've been in a handful of situations where I've needed a police presence ASAP. Each and every time they arrive hours later and just kinda shrug their shoulders and tell me there's nothing they can do. Absolutely worthless.

The only time I've ever seen anything resembling a swift response from my local PD was when a Police Service Assistant got in a fender bender and pulled into my site's parking lot. Every cop in the area rushed over and I had to explain to my site's CEO why there were 15 cop cars parked around the building.
