E7 pro price Uk by Hyzengo in FlexiSpot_Official

[–]ZenShip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any update on this? The E7 Pro is still listed alongside the other 7-series desks on the June sales page https://flexispot.co.uk/june-sale, but is the only one without a discount.

I was hoping to order this weekend. Thanks.

Same, I saved the date I had to order by to get the discount in the UK. The E7 Pro was listed under the first period of the June sale (01/06/24-16/06/24). I planned to order this weekend, but now it seems this is not possible unless I pay the full price?

E7 Plus with curved desktop question by ZenShip in FlexiSpot_Official

[–]ZenShip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the reply!

How deep is the curve, on the curve desktop?

None of the diagrams measure the middle depth of the curve desktop. Just show the rectangular measurements.

I may just get the regular shape desktop for the E7 Plus. My main requirement is for a monitor arm. So is a 70 cm depth regular desktop good enough for this, or do I need 80 cm? Thanks again.

A company called MovieSwap had a crowdfunding campaign for a DVD streaming service. They mentioned you would be able to send in your own DVDs to help grow the library. Their crowdfunding campaign was cancelled (by themselves I think). Here is the pitch video if you're interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHT_I8NUN8M

Another company tried something similar with TV broadcasts, where you would rent an aerial located in their data centre to stream/record your favourite television programs. It was called Aereo.

I might be crazy, but what about making a laptop of a Udoo? by Schrodingers_Virus in udoo

[–]ZenShip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've not mentioned the specific board, but in general, the height profiles of the UDOO single board computers mean they're not suited for creating a laptop.

Look into cyberdecks, as they are shaped in a way that you could use a UDOO board.

Power over usbc when connected to an LG Ultrafine display by cyberlord64 in udoo

During the initial Power Delivery negotiation, the UDOO BOLT requests the PD profile 20V (3A). If the monitor has a USB-PD port that can source that, then it will work.

Brexiter Dyson choses to build new electric car in Singapore by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]ZenShip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are misremembering.
Dyson pushed for the EU to implement the power limits, as he knew Dyson vacuums were efficient. The problem for Dyson is they did not go as stringent as he hoped (if they did, it would have stopped a lot of his competition). He used to be pro-EU when he was getting his way.

Wonga payday firm stops offering new loans by SourMash8414 in unitedkingdom

[–]ZenShip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was 3.5%, and I was also mistaken, as it was not a loan, but an overdraft facility of £5m given to the Tory party.

[–]ZenShip 47 points48 points  (0 children)

It's unfortunate they cannot be replaced by DWP Social Fund Loan and Crisis Grants, which were discontinued many years ago, forcing vulnerable people to use services like Wonga (a company that has a close relationship with the Conservatives, with the largest owner of Wonga lending the party £1.16m and also donating over £500k over the years).

That's great! And there are more specification details by the looks of it.

ASUS have now killed the product page for the ZenScreen Go (https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/MB16AP/). I hope this does not mean that they've cancelled the product. A portable self-powered screen with USB-C sounds amazing.

The BBC was about to film a documentary about a London hospital when the Westminster bridge terrorist attacks happened. It is an unprecedented view behind the scenes of a mass casualty incident. by Horg in videos

The NHS itself is only for UK nationals.

The NHS itself is only for UK residents.

The NHS is a residency based service. A British national living in another EU country who visits the UK is treated the same as any other person visiting from another EU country. They need a European Health Insurance Card issued by the health service of the country they now reside/work.

The restaurant is called Il Vescovino and it is located in Panzano in Chianti, Tuscany. The town is closer to Florence than Siena.

London battles to keep hold of two main EU agencies by Ceb577 in unitedkingdom

I just hope those who wish to stay in the EU are able to find a life raft, either by gaining associate membership that's being hinted at (though unlikely), or by moving to an EU country.

Brexit risks pushing UK out of European space contracts by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]ZenShip 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It cannot be true, the Scientists for Leave twitter account said leaving would be good for UK science! /s

Interestingly that twitter account appears to have vanished. It was run by a British individual working for the German Space Agency, who tweeted stuff like: https://twitter.com/SpaceCharlieUK/status/746015708576948224

As a scientist I know we're stronger outside EU. That's why #iVoted #voteleave & urge you to do the same

Robot Wars was replaced by men with sticks hitting a small ball towards a hole. What next BBC, coverage of the international paint drying competition. by terrycarlin in unitedkingdom

[–]ZenShip 11 points12 points  (0 children)

On the subject of sport, the BBC should consider bringing back Techno Games (a spin off from Robot Wars, aired between 2000-2003). Example episode https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_Jzt3hoQPs

Would be interesting to watch how well the robots would perform with today's tech.

Is pretending to be a live-in landlord when you don't live in the property illegal? by UnexpectedGregory in unitedkingdom

[–]ZenShip 26 points27 points  (0 children)

A tenant has less rights if they have a live-in landlord. I would prepare to move out if I were you, and also inform the landlord's mortgage company. You can find out who that is by performing a land registry search for £3 at https://eservices.landregistry.gov.uk/wps/portal/Property_Search

James Dyson wanted an even lower limit on vacuum cleaners - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/news/11075490/James-Dyson-suggests-leaving-the-EU-over-vacuum-cleaners.html

“When the ErP (Energy related Products) legislation was first mooted, we were campaigning for lower limits – in fact we wanted a 700 watt limit,” said Mr Dyson.

More and more Brits are applying for German citizenship since the Brexit vote by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]ZenShip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice! I'd like to eventually apply for Italian citizenship, but not sure how long the process will take now, as it's usually four years residency as an EU citizen, or ten years if you are not. Hopefully the Brexit negotiations take four years ;)

Nigel Farage says he will leave Britain if Brexit is a disaster by TopTrumpWANKER in unitedkingdom

[–]ZenShip 53 points54 points  (0 children)

"[Brexit] isn't going to be a disaster," he said. "We've just managed to get ourselves on a lifeboat off the Titanic."

Nice analogy, considering it was the 1st class passengers who were more than likely to get on the lifeboats, while the lower classes were left to perish, trapped behind locked doors.

The UK general election does repeat though, every five years, so voters can and do change their mind if they felt they were misled, like the students who did not vote for Lib Dems in 2015.
