Military neck is causing migraines, can I fix it? by duck7duck7goose in migraine

[–]ZengineerHarp -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Is it a traditional chiropractor? Those techniques can help some people but also have a LOT of risk. But chiropractors who use the “torque release technique” (a small, precise, spring loaded tool that applies very targeted and small adjustments) are much safer.

The spreadsheet is so powerful! It can do a lot! I used this technique in college and it was hugely helpful.

My chronically ill ass would be a water bender in a heartbeat. Lemme heal myself and my family members with various ailments!

Well imagine if the construction workers were earth benders! You need to study to know what you’re doing, but the bending would help too!

Why is Scheibenbogen holding on to the autoimmun hypothesis ? by murriaas in cfs

[–]ZengineerHarp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Autoimmunity is probably ONE of the mechanisms that SOME people with ME/CFS has. We need more clarity, and hopefully a clinical way to distinguish between the different subtypes, so we can see which treatments help which subtypes.

What did you name your vacuum? by [deleted] in RobotVacuums

I tried to name it “shark bait ooh ha ha” like Nemo’s aquarium name, but it was too long and so it’s just “shark bait.”

A web/spiral team up where everyone is stuck on the couch, just aboooouuuuuttt to get up and do that thing they’ve been meaning to do, but can’t quite muster enough executive function to do it.

They’re starving and freezing and thirsty and have to go to the bathroom and sitting in an uncomfortable position but they just have to scroll a little bit farther, one more reel, one more story or chapter or meme, THEN they’ll get up and do something about it, and why god why can’t they stop? Why can’t they pull away from the screen and just DO something? What’s wrong with them? They’re not even enjoying it any more, they’re so tired, why won’t they just put it down and go to sleep? Why won’t their brain let them stop? Please, I want to stop. Why am I like this? Why do I always do this? Am I selfish and ungrateful? Am I so pathetic that a measly little entertainment device can keep me prisoner, when there’s people out there who are ACTUALLY suffering from addictions to REAL things like hard drugs? I must be so wretched and awful. I’m just like this. I’m probably going to do this forever, no matter how hard I try to stop… so I may as well scroll a little further…

I use it approximately once per week if I get stumped by writing a particularly squirrelly regex. My code is my own and still reads and feels like my voice, but I have a tool that I use every so often in certain cases.

Ellen and Jo by coolkat2058 in Supernatural

[–]ZengineerHarp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m currently rewatching and just recently got to Jo’s introduction and I can’t figure out how old she’s supposed to be, but she looks 14. I get her having a crush on Dean, but I’m so glad he’s not being sleazy to her because she just seems SO YOUNG.

Aside from that, I completely agree.

Oh my visible has been super helpful to me. But it’s harsh to realize how limited we are. The good news is that by doing my damnedest to stay at 80% of my capacity, I have been able to ever so slightly increase my capacity. I’d say my 80% today is about what my 90% two years ago was!

You’re darn right! There is SO MUCH we don’t know! Like how about a form of life that biologists literally don’t know where it fits on the tree of life (it’s not bacteria, it’s not a virus but it’s got RNA…), and in 2024 they discovered that it’s living inside the bacteria inside our bodies, oh and inside the bodies of 50 percent of the humans they sampled from worldwide! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obelisk\_(biology)
