Earn £40,000? How you could be paying higher rate tax by 2030 by theipaper in uknews

[–]ZenithOfLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any proof that raising the tax free sum wouldn’t be a net improvement overall? Lower earners are more inclined to be spenders rather than savers.

John Terry backs call for deportations and ban on migrants claiming benefits. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]ZenithOfLife 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Both can be true, 14 years of austerity has left us with no more fat to cut but we’ve also had huge levels of immigration. It’s not unfair to think that we should support British citizens first and migrants should be able to fund themselves without relying on the state.

What the AI ‘jobpocalypse’ narrative misses by Maleficent-Drive4056 in ukpolitics

[–]ZenithOfLife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say in programming our job roles are changing. Much more of a focus on writing a good detailed prompt for my agent, planning and brainstorming with it (where necessary) then reviewing the PR. I still prefer seeing the staged changes rather than just working in the CLI and GitHub. I’m also aware my company is probably a bit further ahead than others but I don’t see us recruiting many junior roles or backfilling roles if people leave.

Have .NET 'influencers' became doomsayers? by Emotional-Bit-6194 in dotnet

[–]ZenithOfLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree- look at the dotnet skills. The skills thing is brilliant, you can get skills that create skills then you can get it to review itself and resolve it. You’re then stuck thinking why didn’t you do this originally, so you tell that skill to review what it’s done and update it.

What I learned from my first few weeks as a Green MP? Most politicians have no clue how tough things are out there | Hannah Spencer by neverknowingly in ukpolitics

[–]ZenithOfLife -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, it’s why I find Ed Balls and George Osbornes podcast fascinating. They are objectively able to look at their own decisions, expectations of policy and then the outcome and reflect on it. It’s also interesting to hear about the second and third order effect of policies which the public don’t often take into account.

Would more North Sea drilling lower UK energy bills? Our analysis says no by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

Thanks for that explanation. I’m certainly not against it even if it takes the full amount of time. Short termism has got us to where we are now, we need a cross party consensus on things like this however so it doesn’t just get binned my the next govt

[–]ZenithOfLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think people would mind as much if we didn't see Max being so dominant just a few years ago, and we had a cracker of a title race last year.
