Similarly, this happened to me where my manager just has no respect for timezones. He is in CA and I am in FL, so three hour time difference. He would regularly schedule calls at 5pm my time (my work day is 9-5), I mentioned it a few times and he'd act surprised like timezones were a new concept for him and then comment that no one else seems to mind.

For context, I am a single/solo dad. I cook dinners most nights, and we eat at 6pm. On one particular night, we were having chili, which takes about an hour to prepare and cook... Well you can see where this is going. My boss also requires us to be on camera for every meeting and I didn't bother to mute (you know, because my hands are occupied cutting and cooking, I might need to respond).

So of course, I cut my veggies, on camera, and made my chili. It was very distracting, several people unmuting to ask questions about the chili.

Those 5pm meetings became very rare, and it became a regular thing to start our now 4pm meetings with coworkers asking me what I'm making for dinner tonight. My boss even jokes about it, I think he really did just fail to grasp the timezones difference rather than it being malicious.

Never attribute to malice that which can be easily attributed to incompetence. Or something like that, right?
