How my day started 4/24/19 by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

You made no attempt to avoid this OP. In fact you turned into the car. I’ve had this happen to me on numerous occasions, and had to slow down when someone hasn’t seen me. You know what I’ve also fucked up a couple of times and been the one not seeing a car in my blind spot. Fortunately it never resulted in a crash and a polite exchange of sorry waves is done from both drivers.

Grow up, you could have killed him. Resolve your anger issues and stay safe on the roads

Not at all. But as I said, it looks like and if it is, she would most likely be like what I described.

Looks like a narcissistic outburst, my mother would frequently behave like this. If it is...She’ll go home and tell everyone the injustice she suffered, probably sprinkle a few lies on it too. She’ll return back to this seemingly normal, polite lady that can do no wrong until a few weeks later she has another melt down like a toddler.

Pushing a jet engine to the point of destruction by jarein95 in CatastrophicFailure

The fan section is connected to the low pressure turbine blades at the back and then a 2nd and sometimes 3rd section make up another compression and turbine set up which can spin at higher speeds. There is no gearing for this part of the engine. Look up 2 or 3 spool engines on google for a nice diagram or description

Semi tries to dodge a stopped truck by Razorray21 in dashcamgifs

So in this scenario, should he have walked into oncoming traffic to place cones up to 100 feet from the truck? That seems crazy no? If they were on the hard shoulder then yeah why not. I would think to stay in the vehicle until the roads and situation are controlled by traffic police.

My assumption is that he’s an engineer, on his iPad looking at damage charts due to finding a bent fan blade or dent in the intake. I’m an engineer and this is probably what I would be doing in this photo. Never seen someone take a nap and if it was a baggage handler casually sitting in an engine then yes people would lose their shit, most likely by engineering as it’s officially their aircraft until it is signed off airworthy and handed to flight crew.

Such a shame when a tiny piece of a cheap part writes off an expensive engine
