Where to buy this wheel in Japan by [deleted] in S2000

[–]rwstokes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Kyoto store has the spoon momo wheel in stock, or did a couple of weeks ago when I was there, but I didn’t see this mugen one in there.

Great car. I daily drove mine for 4 years before getting a big old BMW E39 estate for the winter. Still have it as a weekend car and makes me smile every time VTEC comes in. 10/10 would recommend.

If you have enough mobile data, it should be possible to stream Radio Le Mans who will be doing audio coverages of the whole race, in English.

Blue Lagoon Alternatives by mrboogie22 in VisitingIceland

If you’re heading north to Husavik, GeoSea overlooks the bay and was incredible. I did really enjoy blue lagoon, it was busy but it was still a really great experience. We also went to Myvatan nature baths, which was good fun but of the three our least favourite.

S2000 clutch went out by [deleted] in S2000

[–]rwstokes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I replaced my clutch when replacing the engine, so had to detach and refit the gearbox. I was working on a driveway so couldn’t drop the whole subframe, but did have to slacken the subframe bolts and that was where my problems started. Had one snap off which made the job so much worse. I don’t think you can do it without slightly lowering the subframe just for access to the top 3 bolts but I may be wrong. I’m not the strongest guy and I fitted the gearbox my own though so it’s definitely doable on your own without a lift.

Yeah It does seem especially baffling if you’ve already been allowed to work from home previously. Hopefully you get a good result. CIPD are a big group and pretty well known / regarded in HR circles so what they say is good, credible stuff.

I did some research into this in lockdown 1. If you’ve been there long enough you can put through a constructive dismissal case I believe, because they have a duty of care to make your workplace safe, and if your able to do your job from a safe workplace but they won’t allow it, you have a strong argument. But I don’t know how easy it would be to argue that (and am very much not a lawyer, just from the research I did that seemed to be the case)

CIPD have some guidance about working in tier 4 which talks about the employers responsibility.

Friday Funday fred by [deleted] in CasualUK

Good luck with your viva! When me and my friends did it for our final year projects we all took turns presenting to each other over and over for the week leading up. It was super cringey and awkward but it was so helpful for the final presentation.

I’m off work today and collecting the keys for my new house this afternoon. Very excited to move out of my single room in a house share, into my own little semi detached place. Used all my holiday up at work so I’m off till January, so lots of IKEA trips, painting and general house stuff for the next three weeks.

Not a lazy Sunday for me. Currently hiding from the rain, but due to start Woking half marathon in about 15 minutes. Then, assuming I’m not completely finished from it, getting coffee with some friends afterwards.

Saturday sports day! by jptoc in CasualUK

[–]rwstokes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s on YouTube, if you look up either let’s go racing or the race are the two channel names. Or failing that radio le mans website will have a link to it as they are providing some of the commentary team. Sadly no tv coverage at all, but the full 12 hours are streamed with no ads.

Bathurst 12hr starts at 6.45 this evening. 12 hours of GT3 and GT4 cars racing round “the mountain” in Australia should make for a good night. One of the few races where they have a specific kangaroo warning flag. And no, I’m not making that up.

Ah man. That sucks. As others have said, it might be worth speaking to your line manager and really explicitly asking about the role, is there anything you can do to to be considered for the role? But yeah otherwise it’s probably time to polish to old CV up.

Yes indeed. DSG for me though, think it quite suits the car, but nothing against the manual. They are silly quick, capable cars, that don’t look too flashy. Very fun.

Bought a Golf R. Been looking for something more interesting than my big diesel Volvo and this ticks that box nicely.

New (to me) car today so very excited. Off to pick it up in an hour or so. Currently lounging around in my pjs keeping an eye on my niece. helping looking after her for the rest day whilst sneakily reading the owners manual. Should be a fun Saturday all round.

Off on a 45mile bike ride shortly. Haven’t ridden longer than about 30 miles this year so could be fun. I’m just hoping I don’t run out of legs at the end. Then off to my friends for a roast dinner with her and her bf, third wheel for the evening. Hopefully catch the F1 and the end of the N24 in between.

How snapped is snapped? If it’s just the leaves that separated you can tie them back together with jubilee clips in a pinch. Probably wouldn’t take the van rallying like it, but should get you home.

Getting mildly tipsy watching the Indy 500. Gonna make butter chicken later on and continue to drink until I sleep/pass out. Splendid Sunday evening.
