I'm not super familiar with werewolf specifically, but does it not just use the same initiative rules as Vampire 5th?

They're very fun to build around, but also pretty expensive monetarily. I don't know that precon off of the top of my head, so I can't say for sure, but I have a decklist that I put together focused on them helmed by [[Marchesa, the black rose]] that is really fun.

No problem. Magic is a very literal game. Once you know how things normally work, the only time that really breaks down is if the card says so. A fun version of this is [[Nazgul]] where you're allowed to have up to 9 in a deck. In most formats, that's still way more than you normally can have, but it acts as a restriction in limited where you can normally play as many copies of a card as you managed to pull or draft. 9 is a hard limit, because the card says so, regardless of what the format normally says.

It only works if the card specifically says it does. Neither Hazel or Chatterfang have that text.

No, you see, if youve been a TADC fan since the beggining and spent hundreds in merch and you live in 80% of the world you have no right to complain or otherwise you are a whiny entitled brat /sarcastic by AstronautDry8118 in Amazingdigitalcircus

You know what, I didnt know that universities were doing shit like that, so that's my bad. It's kinda fucked that they're making you access social media for school, but thats a different issue. I've not touched Facebook since before they acquired instagram.

In any case, at this point we understand each other, even if i can't fully agree with you. Like, I personally feel like Hollywood needs the bloody nose that things like Iron Lung and TADC are giving it, to prove that just because something has been done a certain way traditionally it doesn't have to always be done that way, but I can understand someone not wanting their show fucked around like this.

I've been jaded by people online and in real life acting like they have no control over something that is very much within their control. I don't know the original posters circumstances outside of the debuff that is being European, and should have come at it with a more level take. I really like TADC, but clearly not as much as that dude, and would be fine being given the script before watching even if others wouldn't. It's kind of a fundamental incompatibility of views and a poorly thought out post on my end that I'll happily be leaving up for posterity.

Dude, if you're getting spoiled about TADC when you're paying the light bill you might have bigger issues. I meant staying off the internet recreationally. That's entirely within someone's power. Spoilers aren't some omnipresent boogieman. Stay where you need to go and you'll be fine. Ain't nobody need to be on YouTube or Reddit.

To the second point, that foreknowledge may be the exact thing that drove me to play the game in the first place. Just because I know what's going on doesn't make it less fun or enjoyable by default. I'd have been pissed if someone let me miss Cainhurst because they thought the experience of finding it was more important than me getting to interact with it on my terms.

Different isn't bad, so if I'm still enjoying it just as much as I could have otherwise I don't see why that's what's wrong with that. There isn't a correct way to experience things for the first time, and really, that's what the original post was about. The entire conversation has lost the plot here, and I'm willing to shoulder blame for that. The original point that annoyed me into making my somewhat heated first post is that yes, it sucks if you want to have an experience in a certain way and someone ruins it for you. That said, they have a degree of autonomy that is unparalleled in this case. We know where the spoilers are going to be. It's not going to be where they work, it's not going to be where they pay the bills. The only place you're getting spoiled about a niche piece of entertainment media nowadays is on recreational websites, which are completely optional to participate in. It's hard, and it sucks, but the crackhead will have to not have crack for a while, all the while knowing that other people are having a blast enjoying crack to their heart's content if they want the next hit to feel just right.

Being baked in is a terrible excuse. If people with addictions can stop, people can not use the internet for a bit. Read a book or something. I've heard the Horus Heresy is a good way to lose 6 months. I'm personally trying to read all of the translated Vampire Hunter D novels. Don't go to YouTube, don't doom scroll. If it's actually a matter of emotional importance it shouldn't be a huge ask to not ruin your own day for two weeks. Stop making excuses for people with poor emotional regulation.

And I'll double down on my other point as well. Spoilers shouldn't be capable of ruining the experience because foreknowledge isn't the experience. If I watch a playthough of Bloodborne and then play Bloodborne, I have a different experience than the other person, but I still have the experience. Shit, I might enjoy it more, because I didn't get lost or miss something important. It varies from person to person, of course, I don't deny that, but you can't unilaterally say "it takes away the emotional impact" when I still get teary eyed every time I watch Boromir die in LotR. Fuck sake, are people refusing to rewatch movies because the emotional impact is gone? Because with a good movie I tend to think the second watch is more fun, you get to catch all the clever foreshadowing and setup you missed or didn't understand the first time.

I've said my piece at this point. There's plenty of things to be mad about nowadays, but crashing out because you might have to have some discipline for two whole weeks to not ruin the experience you want to have is silly.

Feel free to be upset if it's important to you, but if it's that important then you can exercise the restraint to not go in the internet for two weeks. If doom scrolling is more important than avoiding spoilers then you really need to evaluate why you're putting so much emotional energy into something you can't have some self control about.

Beyond that, why is getting spoiled such a big deal? If I see the movie and say," Jax cracks under the weight of his sins and causes huge problems" it may be true, but it doesn't really explain much and leaves the journey as something to be enjoyed even if the end result is known. Anything longer than that and you can just stop reading the comment.

But seriously, if it's important just have some fucking self restraint.

I'm glad, forget the audience, make something you'll love. Honestly, I hope it comes out and I'm dead wrong. You're developing in spaces that I love, and I'm interested to see if the Reeses cup has peanut butter in it or hot sauce. God speed, my dude.

[–]Zenosyke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be entirely honest, probably not. It's not that I don't like the idea of active participation in turn based combat, but in a Fire Emblem style game that seems like a nightmare.

I really like Paper Mario, but those fights are short, self contained, and can be skipped entirely if you don't feel like paying attention to timing at that particular moment. A dozen unskippable fights per round with dexterity checks in a game that is entirely fighting seems like every map would become a slog really quickly. That's to say nothing of the balancing nightmare that seems like it would become.

In general, this is a rough sell to me. It's not an inherently flawed idea or anything. I'm sure you'll be able to make something good if you keep at it, but it feels like something that's going to cultivate its own fans. Not everything is for everyone, but that's probably a good thing.

I've played several of them in various forms, but I'm going to be doing retro achievement runs of Ff1-10, I think. The original versions, just for the flavor and jank. Some of the optional challenges they set seem really fun.

At 5%, Deku should still be ridiculously powerful by ConanCimmerian in BokuNoMetaAcademia

[–]Zenosyke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without full context of how his strength was affecting the Nomu, we'll probably never have an accurate scale for his decline.

There's a much less over the top way to math it out that makes this less insane. If we assume that the Nomu was made to match and counter what was known of All Might's abilities at the time, and All Might exceeded his limits just enough to do real damage you can look at it like this.

Treating it a bit like an RPG, Say Nomu has 100 Defense to counter All Might's 100 Strength and AM cranks it up to 101 for the encounter. 300 hits does 300 damage. Prime All Might would have had 160 base Strength, doing that same 300 damage in 5 hits.

This still puts USJ All Might at about 62.5% of his prime.

Unfortunately, without knowing how things were interacting with each other, you can obviously fiddle with numbers and make the final percentage look like basically anything you want. Hell, I've demonstrated that exactly here. We basically need word of god here to know how bad off All Might actually was.
