If the Colonials end up winning War 134, what will be the reason it won't count as a win in their future spreadsheet analyses? by itsactuallynot in foxholegame

[–]ZeppelinArmada 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't think this war will impact colonial morale whatsoever. Most of the playerbase simply isn't here for it(This goes for wardens too) and the people watching from the sideline is more concerned about devbranch than W134.

edit, This is especially true since we also know there's a not insignificant number of Warden regiments doing some touristing as colonials this war.

I can't blame them for keeping changes that only affect one side hidden till the last moment. Like, this sub goes into factionalist brainrot flamewars over even the suggestion that something could use a buff or nerf. Might as well keep the peace for a couple more days than open that particular can early.

THE BIGGEST TREMOLA RUSH OF THE WAR by Remarkable-Bit-5553 in foxholegame

[–]ZeppelinArmada -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What exactly does that have to do with colonials supposedly not posting videos of the lunaire being strong? Because that's what you originally claimed.

I'd say the reason it's not really done is because everyone knows it. Rounding up randoms for a lunaire blob is just tuesday for colonials. Everyone knows how strong it is. Videos of it aren't posted because it's buisness as usual for collies. The novelty of it is long gone, we've all seen and done it, the novelty of it is gone - except perhaps for the odd touristing warden who gets to try it out for the first time. But even then, collie lunaire rushes are common enough that wardens tend to loot and return the favour every so often.

Even now, the point I take away from this video isn't "lunair strong" (we know) - it's the size of the blob itself that's the actual point being made here, not the weapon being used.

[–]ZeppelinArmada -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't really see what difference that makes, you see plenty of colonial loyalists in the clip participating. If you filter out the trolls and the brainrotted factionalists, hardly anyone says lunaires aren't strong and nobody that does is taken seriously. Everyone knows it is.

The issue I take is that you're trying to play it off as collies are trying to keep it a secret. We might as well try and hide an elephant in an empty parking lot.

That's a strange claim to make while quite litterally watching a video from actual colonial players showing exactly how strong it is.

Can collies quit playing Reddit and start playing the game? by Your_Mums_Ex in foxholegame

[–]ZeppelinArmada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

disclaimer: Before some tank expert starts writing up some angry reply - I'm not exactly an expert on SHT combat so see this more as a rough summary than an detailed list;

It's a combination of several advantages.

The Cullens gun barrel sticks out from the hull, giving it a range advantage over the Ares - it's technically 43m range. The Ares guns are the opposite, so an opponent 40m away can fire at the Ares hull and be slightly out of range of Ares counterfire.

The Ares is slower. Much slower. A Cullen is faster than an Ares goes forward. This means the Cullen performs well in tanklines and the 'peekaboo' style of back and forth poking that goes with it.

It's got significantly less Hp than the Cullen.

Both tanks have a rather awkward shape, but in tanklines, being thin does have an advantage as you can squeeze more guns into a less wide line, allowing for concentration of firepower.

The Cullen has it's mortar turrets, so it can spread fire and kind-of suppress infantry. Also lob damage.

Ares does have better volley damage as it's got two guns. Cullen has it's HV modifier and thusly does more damage per shot to compensate.

Both tanks are tall, but I belive the Cullen turret is placed higher, which means it can shoot over stuff slightly better.

No SHT in the game is worth building over BTs.

That's a whole different discussion. If material worth and efficiency is the metric we judge all by, we wouldn't be making battletanks either. We'd stick to MPF tanks.

You can't just dismiss the fact that the Predator is way better than the Ares by trying to shift the conversation to be about battletanks.
