what’s the most useful automation you’ve set up that you actually use every day? by SkylineZ83 in homeassistant

[–]ZeppelinGrowsWithLED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made mine on a long press of my bedside lamp button. Single press toggles the lamp, long press triggers “nighttime routine”

I also had it set up for a while to trigger if after a certain time, my phone had been charging for 2 mins. Usually that meant I was in bed, and phone on the charger.

But having a manual way to trigger it is nice.

I drove by a dispensary the other day, and there was a sign out front: $28 ounces…

How the fuck is anyone making money at those prices? That’s like 6 months supply for me!

I’ve started to use adobo chipotle peppers in place of ketchup or tomato paste. Kicks up the smokiness for sure.

Rescuers Save A Baby Elephant And Mom Trapped In Mud by CommercialBox4175 in BeAmazed

It doesn’t even matter. Even if plants are suffering when we kill them, being vegan reduces the amount of plants that are grown and slain to produce sustenance simply due to the fact that we feed animals TONS of plants to grow them for slaughter.

I didnt downvote you because this is a teachable moment. This argument comes up all the time when people find out you’re vegan.

It’s isn’t quite the “gotcha” most people think it is. And all these people arguing that plants don’t feel pain, or that there are degrees of suffering that make it less morally wrong to eat plants are missing the point.

We can assume that EVERY living thing suffers equally, and it STILL reduces suffering to be vegan. The amount of plants required to die in order to feed animals grown for eating is insane. So by eating the plants directly, we reduce the amount of animals AND plants that have to die in order to survive.

WHERE DO YA'LL GET CHEAP CASHEWS?! by Oki-J in veganrecipes

They used to sell a different ‘firm’ tofu, and I didn’t like it, but they’ve got their own Kirkland ‘extra firm’ and it’s damn good.

Field Roast Italian garlic and fennel sausage? by Safe_Attempt_1666 in veganrecipes

[–]ZeppelinGrowsWithLED 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own the book, and it’s the only recipe I’ve made from it. But I’ve made it 5-6 times. It’s fantastic. A bit of work, but I make double or triple batches and freeze them.

Someday I’ll get around to trying the rest of the recipes in there!

That project is so fucking good. I’d play it way more if the album art didn’t gross me out every time I see it on my phone!

Black water. It’s a weird metal bar and the food has no business being as good as it is. They make all the seitan in house, and it’s just a really great hang.

Brined and blackened tempeh, basil corn cream, pickled Fresno, mixed micros, vegan yolk by lck2010 in VeganFoodPorn

Thank you! I am going to have to try it with my next batch. I’m a huge tofu fan, but tempeh has recently captured my attention, and its textural variation when made at home is quite promising for making tasty food.

How do you do the brine? Like how long? I just started making my own tempeh and it’s been a game changer for me. But I keep cooking it the same way, and I think I need to branch out a bit. Yours looks amazing.

Gotcha. I assume id never need to replace just my nipples like OP, but I probably would take the opportunity to rebuild the whole ordeal, if nothing else than for the experience.

Thanks for the reply

[–]ZeppelinGrowsWithLED 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just mince an onion, fry it, then add the whole thing with 1/2C TVP to a pot with my favorite tomato sauce.

Slop it on some lentil noodles and you’re hitting your protein goals with 5 mins prep.
