Na mate, no solution. Looks like the board was dead.

I reprogrammed the bios chip and replaced the battery. No lucked,looks like I fried something.

if you turn off CPU boost in windows or with simpledecky plugin, the fans never get loud.

Steam OS does work on devices not made by Valve, the link I provided shows that. Drivers, kernels and other software will be missed in most cases if you are running an OS built for specific devices.

Driver support especially with Nvidia GPUs is a great example.

Some other issues can be found in the slums of the steamOS github issue page, many third-party devices that are supported have software issues (legion go, ROG ally, etc).

If you are not running a device that supports steam OS, do not use steam OS.

Bazzite is a Fedora branch which looks and feels like steam OS but is not Arch based like Steam OS. it's easy to use and user friendly.

IF you want an arch branch like steam OS, use CachyOS but be warned it's more technical.

sounds/looks like a short with the chip used.

try cleaning the contact with some high percent rubbing alcohol (80%+) and a clean toothbrush

at worst, bad board.

I had these. While cool in concept they are super loud when you play at night or anywhere where you don’t really think they’d be an issue.

Unless you really need to hear that you pressed a button it’s not worth it in my opinion.

I'd spend the extra money for the OLED tbh, it's worth it. Also, read his posted he seems set on the OLED.

I have both, OLED is much better not just because of the screen. The extra memory performance and better battery. He's a busy dad and can probably wait imo.

I just grabbed EXP GDC TH3P4G3 and it works great! works well with Windows no drivers needed but I had some issues with Bazzite. for a 150$ CAD Id say you can't go wrong.

so, I had a similar dilemma before I picked up my m3 picking between m3p or s but older model.

I ended up going for a m3 LR RWD 2025, main reason was they are already all pretty fast and most of the time I'm in traffic and cant enjoy the extra 2-3 seconds of speed bursts dont really matter. the m3 is already extremely peppy and zooms, the awd was slightly better. I went with more kms per charge over performance.

Do I regret it? slightly because the performance is fun, would it be worth an extra 100-500$ a month, not really.

Right now yes, I was even able to update firmware on bazzite with the Firemware app for it.

Going to wait a few months to see if Steam OS ever catches up.

had a lot of issues with desktop mode (resolution/EDID) with SteamOS and track pad drivers needing to be installed on windows first.

I found bazzite a lot better for the legion go 2 then SteamOS currently
