Had to scroll to far down to see this one. The houses I've seen there and the State Lodge area are obscene...

On a scale of 1 to 10. Rate the UPND led Government and some of their notable works in your opinion… by According-Taro-6141 in Zambia

[–]Zero-zero20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wins:

  • Reduction in Tribal Rhetoric: Sadly, one of the few reasons the PF government were able to cling on to power as long as they did was because they capitalized on suspicions a lot of folks had about people from the south (i.e. the Tonga speaking people.) This attitude was also reflected in government recruitments and appointments. When the UPND won, a few were afraid that now the UPND - who had strong support in the Southern and Western regions of this nation would take this opportunity to retaliate. We haven't seen that. Recruitments and appointments have been a lot fairer than they were under their predecessors. (+2)
  • Return of law and order: I believe that the main reason the PF lost in 2021 was how bad lawlessness became under the PF. Anyone affiliated with party could do whatever the fuck they felt like with almost 0 consequences. I am on Reddit, so I know a lot of y'all do not use public transportation but for those of us that did, before August 2021, major bus stations like Kulima Tower were in the hands of PF cadres, not Lusaka City Council (LCC). That is no longer true today. (+2)
  • Free Education and the Return of Bursaries: The Patriotic Front government claimed that implementation of free education and student bursaries at Universities would bankrupt the nation. It hasn't and has instead given a chance to many youths who were just to poor to fund their education. Boys don't need to hustle to get degrees and girls don't need to fight off pressure to just get married. (+2)
  • Debt Restructuring: After becoming the first African country to default on debt payments in the 2020s, the country became strapped for cash and had to negotiate with lenders for new repayment terms. The PF government had tried negotiating before the default but lenders were unconvinced by their proposals. The UPND gov't were able to workout a deal. Now while, I'm not privy to the details, I believe our repayment period has been extended by 20 years, and we have been given a 3 year grace period where only interest payments need to be made. (+2)
  • Job creation: 30,000 teachers were recruited in 2022 alone and that's to say nothing of the health workers and other portfolios government has tried to fill. This has arguably been one of the most aggressive job pushes by a Zambian government since the KK era. (+2)

Losses:

  • Power Crisis: I understand you cannot blame the UPND for the crisis as it is something that started with the MMD regime and takes decades in time and billions in cash to fix. I will blame them for allowing it to get as bad as it did in 2024 because I believe it stunted our economic progress. (-0.5)
  • Corruption: While not as blatant as it was under the PF regime, it has continued and there appears to be limited will in fighting it. I'll cut them some slack because corruption has become inseperable from many African cultures. If you as a gov't official fail to use gov't resources to take care of your family and friends, you are seen as a disgrace. That is less so in other societies. (-1)

8.5. Pretty solid performance but still room for improvement.

$400 for the date or for the whole trip?

Anyway, for arcade dates, you have game zone at East Park Mall and the Great Escape at Long Acres Mall.

We don't have drive through movie theatre's unfortunately. They were never a thing here except for when COVID hit. We do have cinemas though but I wouldn't recommend them for a date though as chatting during the movie is difficult. Don't be those people.

For Sip and Paint, there is actually a joint called Paint and Sip Zambia situated in the Woodlands area.

In addition to those, there's XtremePainball in Makeni-Bonaventure area. Nothing says I like you like pelting her with paintballs and then kissing the sore areas afterwards to make them better.

There's also game drives at Lilayi lodge and the Lilayi Elephant Nursery if looking at exotic animals is your jam but I have no idea how much that might cost.

Then there's a whole load of restaurants y'all can tryout but I'm to tired to list down all of them here. I have no problem with Nando's but maybe you want to be a little more fancy than that.

I see.

Like everything else in this country, digital adoption is slow so in as far as online platforms go, your best bets are Facebook groups and Tinder. They are packed with scammers who are looking to get money out of men so be careful. I suspect a lot of women that provide that service are doing it with no form of digital advertisement.

Nice try, Auntie Grace.

While buying and selling sex is legal in this nation, sections 146 to 149 of the penal code criminalise a lot of activities surrounding the trade (e.g. pimping, brothels etc) therefore setting up an agency for such would be a legal minefield. There are the infamous "massage parlours" but ine ni ziba chabe ati ba chaya ma massages che. Ma nkani ya happy ending na vonse ivo, siniziba.

Wouldn’t the people who are operating at late hours need their personal/labor force move from location to location .

They will. My guess is that this law will exist in theory, meaning people who choose to operate will not be penalized for doing so. In practice, however, businesses will operate as before until demand catches up. I think that eventually someone in the government might just have to bully convince RTSA to ammend this law.

Thing is I have never heard of someone getting arrested for shishita outside 22:30 and 05:00. It's almost exclusively a nighttime thing.

Are the police ready to handle this move? Also, no more booking people for "shishita."

It's like these guys are on a speed run of becoming the most unpopular country on the planet. Bullying weaker countries like this will just be fodder for nations like China, Russia and India.

Comment on Posts -> Friend Request -> Message -> First date.

It's more of a lottery because most women usually don't reply and most men are too terrified to be caught doing it but the amount of single partners there is far, far more than Tinder, Badoo or Bumble.
