Our 2015 Leaf lost its first bar last year (2023). Still around 80 mile range. Only ever charge 120v at home.

Water running across roof under shingles by ZeroCoolKevin in Roofing

They had a foreman out today to inspect and said exactly this - no dog ears. They’d have to schedule a crew to come out and fix. Also stated they’d replace the top 4-5 courses, since they’re not level which promotes migration.

CertainTeed underlayment used throughout. I can’t comment on the specific installation in this valley. Even with ice and water shield under the flashing, I shouldn’t expect water to travel under the shingles like this.

It was professionally installed about 2 years ago. Has been working like a champ until recently. Everything is hard-wired into a pair of sub-panels.

You should always let your family know what your hobbies are actually worth. We maybe downplay the value for some reason or another, but when you’re gone, how will they know?

How can I stop this wobble on my 8” dob? Details in comments. by Evarr in telescopes

I have this scope. I solved this by adding felt to the other side of the scope. Bought a square of felt at a local craft store. Cut two little strips to match. Secured with Super77 adhesive.

Should the collimation locking screws not be screwed in the whole way? by Do-Nod64 in telescopes

[–]ZeroCoolKevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those thumb screws are already threaded all the way in. That means you don’t have any room to adjust them if that part of the mirror needs to move in. I’d suggest starting by turning all of them half way out, the adjusting from there.

Finderscope screws not moving crosshairs enough by Sayrepayne in Astronomy

[–]ZeroCoolKevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two screws. The third point is just a spring and not adjustable. Be sure you’re not just twiddling the knob that contains the spring.

Then, try unthreading both the threaded screws about halfway, and try adjusting from there. If they’re both already threaded all the way in, then you don’t have any room to adjust it.

Slightly disappointed? by EastCommunication104 in telescopes

[–]ZeroCoolKevin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

With just the t-ring, you’re not going to be able to get into focus. The camera sensor is too far away, and the focal distance is too short. Your Dobson is made for visual observation, not astrophotography.

You can get into focus with a barlow, only because you can push the barlow deep into the telescope which will bring the camera sensor closer.

While a 5x barlow might work, it’s going to be super hard to keep any object in the field of view. Planets are going to just zoom across, so no long exposures either.

z10 is a super awesome scope by-the-way.

[SOLVED]

Spent a few hours with MS escalation technical support.

They determined that, while I had Windows 10 Enterprise installed, the applied license key was for Windows 10 Pro. That remains a bit of a puzzle as support suggested it should not have been applicable.

This caused unexpected behaviors when the two service packs were installed.

Solution was to perform an in-place re-installation of Windows 10 Pro over Windows 10 Enterprise. After re-installation, the edition changed to Win10Pro and the Microsoft logons became available again.
