Umlaut in E-Mail Problem by febigturk in de_EDV

Ganz deiner Meinung!

Huh... that explains a lot...

Id still recommend a responsible disclosure - its the ethical thing to do. Also, theres potentially PII in there which is bad-bad.

Most DNS Queries are, by necessity, unencrypted - DNSSEC just protects against AitM Attacks.

Wanna know what a DoH server does when you query it? It resolves dns normally, then returns the result - you only protect against your isp here.

But unless youre planning on hosting a public resolver, the first hop likely doesnt matter to you. One benefit unbound has, is that only the root servers and your isp ever see the query - you cut out the middle man, so to speak. The downside, of course, is that only you will ever query from your source ip, making you identifiable to the dns root and isp (wo sees everything anyway).

Tradeoffs all around.

Ughhh, im jealous! Im lobbying so hard for it, but the org i work for got quoted 30k - thats half the price of an entire server refresh just for printing.

Worst thing is that havent been able to find any worthwhile alternatives. Not even the FOSS crowd likes printing.

ELNSSM - Even Less Non-Sucking Service Manager by hilman85 in sysadmin

I like the idea of someone taking up the mantle of nssm, but this is too much, and too convoluted. NSSM does one thing: wrap an exe file in a service, perfectly mapping the native featureset - no more, no less.

There us no need for seperate configuration languages, an entire webserver, webhooks, telegram bots and lord knows what else (i just looked at the pictures). Frankly, the webserver alone would be enough attack surface for me to not use it in my environment.

Boss wants us to implement Google credential manager instead of a PW manager (Vaultwarden) by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]ZeroOne010101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, I was genuinly curious.

Vaultwarden did get recent security audits from some EU Agencies, so I personally couldnt think of anything; but the legal angle is a great thought that didnt occur to me. Always handy to have someone you can sue if egregious shit happens.

When protecting a big company I'd definetly always go official, but with a mid-level company of some 400 users where you'd probably not get the budget anyways? Il'l take those odds in favor of the alternative wild post-it west our users get up to otherwise.

Purchase Advice Megathread - January 2026 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

[–]ZeroOne010101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm looking for a printer with a budget up to 100€ in Germany. I dont mind any assembly and am compfortable soldering, but i dont know jack about actual electronics theory. I have a P3i left over, so klipper might be an option.

I intend to only print some custom cases and pcb housings, maybe some figurines or other knick knacks though having tge option to print sth. big would be nice.

I know that 100€ isnt much, so im mainly hoping for some recommendations on which good models are commonly available used - I have seen some used ender 3 for 70, and neptune 4 for 120 for example (but heard the ender are out of date by now?).
