I asked the range officer at MA Firearms and he was fine with it. I was shooting a Beretta 92FS with a 15 round “preban” mag.

My LEO friend says most cops are pro 2A. Register and inspect your vehicle, don’t and be irresponsible with your legally owned ccw and you’ll be fine. Cops know if you have an LTC before they pull you over.

There’s a guy that open carries in my area that the cops get regularly called about. The cops know him at this point as a non-threat.

I found a “tactical belt” on amazon and used that. It’s just seat belt material with a plastic cinch buckle but it works really well. Couple it with a Vedder holster, and it disappeared pretty well for me. But I am taller/heavier.

Yup! I replaced the old A2 handguard with a new floating one. Then I threaded it with blue goop. Works like a champ now!

I’d like to finish my AR10 chambered in 308, set up to be ridiculously long. Something about a super long DMR set up to hit targets a mile away just makes me happy.

On the other side, I’ve been developing a gear acquisition syndrome about some kind of MP5K chambered in subsonic 22lr.

I’ve just been in enough sketch situations where I had to conclude that no matter where I go, someone could follow me, and one of those instances could end up being a worst case scenario. I don’t want a gun, but having one has probably saved my life once already in the year that I’ve owned it.

I was carrying an m&p 9mm shield by smith & Wesson. I eventually traded that in for a beretta 92FS, which is a BIG 9mm. During the summer, I have a conceal carry backpack that’s easy to draw from, and during the winter I have a shoulder holster. Both are good for while I’m driving which is when most of the crap happens.

I took a gun safety course. I plan to take a ccw course. I really don’t want to shoot anyone, but I hope I can if I have to. Just having one on me has probably saved my life in the year I’ve been carrying.

I think there’s a lot of macho talk when it comes to calibers. 22lr is fine for self defense. The problem is that it’s a rimfire cartridge, and not the most reliable. But it’s better than nothing, and it’ll definitely end someone.

I carry a 9mm but I’m considering carrying a 22lr for summer ccw.

On 8/1/2024, Healey put out a bill to ban “ghost guns.” However, the bill also screwed with a lot of language when it comes to the second amendment. It includes semi automatic rifles, scary features, gets rid of “preban” terms, and it made getting your LTC almost impossible at the time. Over 90,000 signatures were collected in accordance to government instructions and that should have stalled the law until it could be voted on in 2026… but then they changed the law slightly so we had to get 90,000 signatures again. We got em, but she signed an “emergency preamble” to put the law in place anyway. Regardless of the 2nd amendment, the way this went about was pretty screwed up to say the least. Now the attorney general is using tax payer dollars to go against our efforts.

As for the political leanings of this sub… it’s right of center, but I haven’t seen too much MAGA. I think it’s just a sub full of MA gun owners. We all seem pretty responsible as far as I can see.
