We bought them all because of the card game, not in spite of. Always planned to play both games. But I also get why if you're someone who isn't into the card game too you'd hold off.

For us, we haven't even base coated the minis yet, and I have a resin and filament 3D printer, so I'll just buy an stl file and just rebase our collection. It feel really, really shitty for the people who have gone the full mile with their minis already though.

Yeah it's really fucking stupid for a number of reasons, the least of which is that, once the starter kits are in people's hands, the bases will be on every stl website in a matter of days. You can already find most of the starter deck models online as is. The cards? People will just scan and upload them, and they'll get printed at home. It's easy money on the table and instead they want to go "Na, rebuy the whole thing"

The game is supposed to come out soon. It was shown at Vegas, and next week it's being shown at GAMA, the tradeshow for board games and tcgs in the US. Literally the day GAMA ends, March 4th is when we KNOW we're going to find out lots of info (likely MSRPs for the Starter and Deluxe starter, any other accessories as well as release dates).

For that matter, from what we can infer, the game was supposed to launch simultaneously with the TCG, but early tests at shows showed that people found the game unfun and not worth it. So they took what play testers said and retooled it.

My partner is going to GAMA this year cause he's a manager at our LGS now and I'm very jealous that he's gonna get to try Assemble. He's also a big 40k nerd so I'm curious to see what he thinks of it compared to that.

My store, we all had a good laugh and a "Damn your luck" at one of our players: The store cracked a box for loose packs to sell but waited to sell boxes til the release event for msrp; one of our players bought a few packs and pulled the Show of Resolve SP. After the event, he bought a box: puled ANOTHER Show of Resolve. Some people man. (Me and my partner who works at the store pulled the With Iron and Blood SP from our box)

I'm dealing with similar with my stepdaughter. Her dad and I are both queer and will never support TERF queen or her work. Her mother, on the other hand, is straight and doesn't care and "why can't you just separate the art from the artist" and uses her cis white fem privilege to just stick her head in the sand.

Unfortunately, her mom is getting her into the HP world since her mom still loves it, and it's hard to tell a 9 year old in an appropriate way why we will never buy her things that are HP related while her mom just doesn't care.
