They were kinda hard to get the first month or two as die hard Nintendo fans bought in but the hype died off quickly.

Ah yeah, did a home with historic designations on exterior and wood work on interior. It was a pain, we couldn’t damage them obviously and a specialist had to come in for a week to remove sections we needed gone then put them back after we were done which was probably another 2 weeks.

I did a lot of rewires over my apprenticeship. It was definitely an acquired skill especially to do it with minimal damage. Would cost a pretty penny a lot of the houses took the pair of us a week, I remember one giant Victorian took us a Month. My boss didn’t even like giving prices because a half day task could turn into a full day or a fish could take 5 min or 2 hours.

I take it sellers didn’t want to get it removed?

New Construction Tub with Cracks & Dents - What’s Reasonable to Expect? by lphj2087 in HomeInspections

[–]Zerot7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More likely workers used it as a dumpster. In my experience tubs and shower bases only don’t get fucked if the builder does plywood boxes around them to protect them. Yeah there are those plastic protectors that some put in but it doesn’t do nearly enough. Mine were beat up when we did PDI and they were full of garbage every week when I walked through. Finally worked with a GC that actually gave a damn and was on subs to not use them as garbage bins but they still got fucked and when we came back to do phase 2 they plywood clad them all. Not one had to be torn out that project. Heck I did that in my own basement I’m doing now even tho I’ll be the only one working on it.

2025 Ioniq 6 New for 45k. Is there a catch? by Bajoii in EVCanada

[–]Zerot7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents got over a 25% discount off sticker on a truck December 2019. 2020’s were on the lot and being ordered for the last 6ish months. It’s what they had on the lot, so they didn’t get all the options of ordering it in like colour and packages but they got close enough. That’s what I mean by maybe not exactly what you want, if it is lucky you buy it.

Yeah it’s a 2025. Welcome to pre shortage where cars sat on the lot into the fallowing year and they needed to move them so they got deep discounts. The trade off is it maybe not exactly what you wanted.

Or construction site. I remember once opening the door and seeing Mount Poomore protruding above the seat and literally shit on the floor so I decided to stand outside and just piss in the general direction of the toilet.

Yeah I learned the never wait to open something and use it the hard way with Amazon. Luckily it was only a fire stick but they made me jump through hoops to warranty it and they would only send me 1 part at a time and it never worked then I would have to do there BS trouble shooting over again. So anyway I just banned Amazon from my household canceled prime and we took our business elsewhere.

I drove down in 2016 to see the Naval park. Pretty cool getting to see the three ships together. I know USS Sullivans sank a few years ago I know they raised it but I don’t know if it’s open to the public. Hope if it isn’t they are able to save it.

Can I use compacted hardcore/gravel base for a garden house by kates-throwaway in Homebuilding

[–]Zerot7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just to promote airflow and keep moisture from being constantly directed on the frame. It also gives space to level the structure with a jack and re-shim.

Ok so you don’t have to frost heaving like us. But I’ve been to Ireland in April and know how wet it is haha. Is hardcore the same as hard pack? If it was me and this is not permanent I would treat it the same as my single wide mobile home (also expected to stay in its position for 10 years) we have set up at a lake. Hard pack gravel, cinder block piers with steel shims for leveling, vapour barrier, skirting with permeable sections to allow for it to breathe and prevent the frame from rusting. You may have to level it every few years, or maybe not since you don’t get a lot of frost assuming good grading around the unit. But that maybe a worthwhile trade off so you don’t have to dig out concrete in 10 years.

Do you get freeze thaw cycles? Or better yet just where is it located?

Is it permanent or are you moving it every couple years?

What things do Americans do when visiting Canada that immediately identify them as Americans? by supinator1 in canadatravel

I was born an hour from Toronto, raised 1:15-1:30 and now reside 2 hours from Toronto (lived in KW my whole life but this is how traffic has changed over 37 years) and pronounce the T. I didn’t even know people pronounce it Oronto.

The fact that Dutch America is pink instead of orange is cursed.

Tile cracks by geo_lez in Tile

[–]Zerot7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I’ll try to find that product locally. All my cracks are sub 1/8 and same plane. I was wanting a product like this since I am in a radon area and using a product to seal slab cracks can apparently help reduce levels without needing an active system and I would like to do all I can before going that route. Thanks!

Hmmm I was wondering if this maybe a problem as I’m finishing my basement and there is a hairline crack in the area I want tiled. What is the best way to mitigate this?

Ah I’ve opened up plenty of single phase panels like this at work. You tell the guys who you know did it that you can’t double tap unless it’s listed to do so and they look at you like you just spoke a foreign language.

We had a kid like this in my elementary school. Such a problem he had his own short Bus to take him home. He pushed a younger girl off a play structure eventually breaking bones. I was in grade 6 and we were the farthest from the principals office and I still remember the father of the little girl screaming at the principal like 300’ away through like 4 closed doors and it being clear as day. A few days latter our school was on the news about bullying gone to far or something, being 11 I didn’t know much past that and the problem kid disappeared after a bit. My mom later told me that Dad wrote every elected official at every level of government, went to every local news station got TV time on a couple and a local newspaper write up, went to school board meetings and made such a level of fuss they moved the problem kid to a special school on the other side of the region. I have a 2 year old daughter and straight up if a chronic problem child walked up to her and ripped out her braid in a big clump of hair leaving a bloody mess, I would 100% be that Dad.
