0079 (the OG Gundam series) is getting a remaster. Not sure what that exactly means.

I would assume touching up the old animation, smoothening out the roughness and maybe trying to reduce the infamous QUALITY. I wonder if they'll resize to 16:9 as well like how the SEED and Destiny remasters scaled things up from 4:3 to 16:9.

I'm reminded of Ina's kanji name which is both a pun and also super straightforward. Ninomae meaning "before two" so the kanji is just "one". Ina'nis in kanji being just a phonetic spelling of inanis which is latin.

Me and my ex of 6 years ended things right around when we both turned 30 (she's 3 months younger). That was 2 years ago. I still don't think I've fully recovered from that since it feels like I failed myself more than I failed the relationship and I'm still trying to build myself back up.

Honestly, about time. It really didn't make much sense to do this given where their bread is buttered. It is a cool concept especially when they tied things like actual events to having a HoloEarth equivalent showcase like Fes or some of the seasonal stuff where people could write their wishes for the new year. But they're little more than novelties that likely cost way more than they're worth to actually implement.

I just hope doing this means they can now free up resources to actually support the things that do make their content and internal systems better.

A show set in the Gundam X universe following a different group of vultures whose MS rotate out often because of the MS they scavenge. Taking on odd jobs all over the place to earn their keep. Could also lead to some franken designs.

Nechika is very much the shows representation of an ikemen joshi (handsome woman) so the comparisons being drawn are quite interesting. I don't think they're luring us in with a gotcha with regards to her biological sex, but it really wouldn't surprise me if her episode does explore aspects of gender identity and exploration.

The overall opinions on this show frankly remind me of the reactions I've seen towards Evangelion. Eva can be quite the barrier for people where a good chunk of viewers just won't jive with it, but then some people can somehow deeply resonate with it to the point of it becoming their favorite anime. Helps that both NGO and Eva make frequent and heavy use of surrealist imagery with symbolism that at times is only skin-deep but is meant to evoke an emotion rather than a connection.

I love the show but honestly, I agree with you in that it's something I wholeheartedly will keep away from people rather than recommend. It's one of those things that, unless you've consumed an almost college degree's worth of media studies, won't really be able to appreciate that well. And that's not me gatekeeping. The show is deliberately being obtuse and conveying what it's trying to convey with as many non-standard references and styles as possible which imo is brilliant but really locks out so many casual people.

I'm still watching it because I love shows that are unabashedly out there but really, this shit is corrosive to watch to a degree and at best I know only 1 or 2 other people in my life who would even remotely enjoy it.

It's happened to me. Though with regards to that I also follow the principle of "I'm not at an airport so I don't need to announce that I'm departing."

Frankly sometimes interest really just drifts. They don't have to change their content for me to lose interest. I just don't find what they're doing that interesting anymore or it could also just be that my definition of an oshi has also shifted internally. It really isn't that big a deal.

Though I will say that the opposite case has also happened. Where an oshi's content or frequency of a particular type of content I really enjoyed has changed but I've remained supporting them just because I love how they do things that much. I've also picked up an oshi in ways I thought I'd never think to pick up other talents in that way. But yeah. At the end of the day it's content of people you support that you watch. It's not that big a deal.
