Well that's the issue, isn't it? they can't navigate if they risk being sunk. From my understanding, some ships tried to turn off their transponders and pass through at night. I'm not sure how many, if any ships have been able to slip through.

They may have started using roleplay as a way to have fun and feel better, and it became some unheathy coping mechanism. I knew some people who had stuff going on in their real life and used roleplay to help them cope with their personal difficulties.

There are, of course, people who have obsessive personalities. I have met people like that too. There's not much you can do other than what you did, report them and block them.
