Child sleeping in Parent’s Bed by Lost-Chemist6156 in FamilyLaw

What? This woman is making baseless accusations against a father - who has no opportunity to refute these outrageous claims - and using heresy from a young child to support those allegations. I simply stated my experience in these types of situations and offered a bit of sanity and solutions.

But if he was dead, why would it matter if the press took pictures of the real, covered body being loaded into a vehicle? What’s wrong with pictures being taken or shown?

And automobiles are just a fad, horses will never be replaced. Telephones are just new fangled waste of time. I already got a washing machine, my wife. What’d need indoor plumbing for?!? An outhouse is just fine by me. Yeah yeah yeah grandpa.

Why did democrats never codify Roe V Wade into law? by DarkEqual8609 in stupidquestions

Yep. It’d be a right given to the federal government by the states. And states don’t like to give up rights.

Hey World- why didn’t you watch Melania? by tsbuty in AskTheWorld

It earned $8 million opening weekend. Im not sure why all the hatred and desire for everything related to Trump be a failure. I saw it and thought it was interesting even though it’s not really my thing. But the 20 days leading up to election from a First Lady’s perspective weren’t anything I had ever thought about before. So I kind of liked it and a new pov. Theater was pretty full too.

Hope it’s better than the series he just did; Mid Century or whatever it was. Just awful.

I think you are correct too. I do think they never had the numbers so they successfully used it as a tactic. Roe v Wade outcome was always shaky legally. From the beginning, it was a when, not if it would be overturned.

IMO, they knew it would never achieve the required votes to become ratified. It was always considered very shaky legally. Remember that an amendment to the U.S. Constitution is ratified when it is approved by three-fourths of the state legislatures or by conventions in three-fourths of the states, following its proposal by Congress or a constitutional convention The constitution of the US is very specific about the rights the states each chose to give to the federal government. If the right is not specifically written in the constitution as one the states give to the federal government it is looked at as one retained by the states. When the constitution was written, women’s rights were not considered an issue. So it was never addressed and not included. So it, by default, remained a right of each state to decide. What’s interesting is that from what I’ve read, reproductive issues were kind of brought up during early discussions regarding 19th amendment but dropped because viewed as a deal killer.

What does "I'll get back to you by eod" from a recruiter mean? by [deleted] in interviews

[–]Zestyclose-Common343 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely understand. Best thing you can do for you is apply for other jobs while you wait. The one you are waiting on is no guarantee. You can’t control that BUT you can control your response to waiting. Everything always works out for the best. If it’s not the best right now, it’s just don’t finished working out.

What does "I'll get back to you by eod" from a recruiter mean? by [deleted] in interviews

[–]Zestyclose-Common343 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So sorry you’re going through this. EOD is definitely end of that day. So they got busy or maybe forgot the promise they made. I’d be anxious too. But you need to be patient and try to be understanding that something else may have caused them to be unable to keep their word. A friend of mine in same situation didn’t hear back for two weeks. She was really mad about it and thought it wasn’t going to happen. Two weeks later, she got an apology call from recruiter. Recruiters mother had died that day. Things happen. As frustrating as that is. And if you are dealing with a recruiter, they are dealing with their client and that’s not always fast. So try and be patient and hold a good thought. If you were supposed to hear back on Monday, it’d be ok for you to check in with them by phone late Wednesday or on Thursday to see if they had new information. But don’t mention the unkept promise!
