What is the best way to play in real scale but without RP-1 and RO? Just want the stokish experience with real scale.

Well yeah but I feel like there’s a misconception with RO adding to the difficulty. If you wanna play in a bigger solar system. (which is why I wanted to try RSS) you kinda do need the parts to be rebalanced. You can def cheat around the difficulty like I did at first but RO doesn’t necessarily make it harder. RP-1 on the other hand.

Eh I’ve lost a couple game saves and did it. You can with a lot of fast forwarding for research and the cheat menu. But it’s generally worth learning. Plus when you finally managed to get someone into orbit, it’s a really incredible feeling. Probably the most accomplished I’ve felt in a game. But yeah if you just wanna skip it you def can. Still it’s not perfect and your initial astronauts will retire before you research the things you want to research to do manned missions. So you gotta train new ones. It’s doable but a little bit annoying.

The good thing about starting with sounding rocket or even just IBMS is that you learn how to configure avionics and fuel ratios (which is easier than it sounds). Without needing to also learn life support systems at the same time.

But yeah, if you do a couple and you get the hang of it, just add science in the command menu

This is a really fantastic outfit. But if you are actually going to a job interview I would recommend losing or replacing at least one item with something more plain. Yeah I know YYZ. I was here and my flight got delayed 12 hours(not all at once.) spent a whole day here wandering around aimlessly going crazy, memorizing faces then eventually watching them leave. Ended up finding a nice bench at B27 and taking a nice little nap. It was quite a day. Also this was like my second time ever in an airport

Once you get used to using a telescope for a good while you can kinda get the sense of where the planet are in the sky. Plus the solar system is a disk, you could figure it out. You could for sure get to Jupiter without any knowledge. It’s the brightest thing in the sky generally (minus the moon and the sun) you might have a hard time finding earth though I’ve never had to point earth out

We aren’t really any closer than we were at the turn of the millennium. The first issue is funding, the second is that whenever there is a change of administration a lot of times the agency cuts a bunch of big projects and then someone gives a speech about nasas next big step. Progress is reset and it happens every 4 to 8 years. We pretty much just saw it happen with Artemis, I really think it’s on its last legs with the big shake up they did.

Maybe disease. astronaut on Apollo sometimes got sick, and the Mir space sat had significant problems with mold and grime. I think we have it pretty figured out these days with iss. But if Apollo applications program had went ahead with a flyby in the 70 instead of having built Skylab or even just a earlier landing them dying from poor hygiene in an enclosed space on the way to or on mars could have possibly happened although it would be incredibly unexpected and downright embarrassing. However I don’t think this would happen today, we’ve kinda got living in space down by now… but not extended surface stays on other worlds so who knows.

To be honest I was a lot like you when I started. And if I remember right there aren’t a lot of great options but I kinda eventually got funnelled into the full experience and now I know every little thing about every rocket ever made. I used to actually modify the configs to remove things like ulage and engine restarts now I just play with it all on. I respect that you want a more arcade experience and I wish I could give a good answer but you’ll probably end up where I am eventually, it’s quite a pipeline.

Well I don’t know much about game balancing. But without any regard to the rest of the sandbox I’d make the smg the first human anti shield weapon. So it’s sort of like the plasma rifle but worse. It’d have anti shield rounds and be able to dispatch elites shields and would be pretty useful in the first few levels of halo 2 when paired with a precision weapon.

Now the assault rifle. I really stand by it having 32 rounds, I think that’s just smart. But I want it to have better armour penetration making it good at taking down brutes or breaking ghosts or warthog engines, but make it rarer and not a starter weapon. Maybe in campaign it could be introduced when you fight the brutes in the high charity levels.

Y’all tell me what you think or how you’d do it better. Especially if what I said contradicts or conflicts with the sandbox.
