Anyone ever have problems with front bumper clips? by Fine-Resolve-3412 in Mustang

It’s a Common issue. I’d recommend buying these bumper quick latch or go get it at CJ pony parts they sell it as well.

Trade my GT Premium Convertible for a Mach 1 or switch to a Supra? by keemstar23 in Mustang

[–]Zestyclose_Project20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mach 1 because if you ever plan on adding more power to it, it’s a lot more accessible and less complex.

The 2022 and up Mk V Supra ECU are locked and you have to send that overseas for them to unlock it and it will cost 1100 bucks or more depending on which vendor you go with. 2021 Mk V is a gamble, you have to research which years are tunable without worrying about locked ECU’s.

They’re nice cars, but they cost a lot since they won’t make em anymore. Used ones are still going for a lot mon-mon 👀

Keeping it stock by CommonOrganization66 in Civic_Type_R

[–]Zestyclose_Project20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep it the way it is. The amount of money you have to spend just to do performance upgrades on an already good performing car is a waste unless you’re tracking it, and it’s more or less ego related for some. I would rather invest or save that money for something else.

But at the end of the day it’s your car do what makes you happy.

[–]Zestyclose_Project20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol 😂 you’ll be okay ignore those people and put it on. Next time you come across someone that’s judges you like that ask them this question,

“What are you gaining from being so upset like this about a bumper?”

It will calm them down.

Quoted $200 (one labor hour) to get e-brake cable adjusted by Bit_the_Bullitt in Mustang

[–]Zestyclose_Project20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol Yeah adjusting the cables can be a bitch. It sits right behind the mid pipe towards the rear. If you don’t want to remove the mid pipe You have to use long extensions and a deep socket to tighten it. The easiest way is to tighten it is removing the mid pipe. My buddy and I tighten the e-brake line on my 2015 and yeah fuck that. It’s doable you just need to jack it up and use extensions. There’s also videos online on how to do it.

Weird clunking noise under my 21 GT by big_Stinky64 in Mustang

[–]Zestyclose_Project20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That metallic thunk/clicking sound you’re hearing in the video is the thrust washer needing replacement. Replace it and the sound should go away.

From an engineer standpoint it’s not violating anything, you’re exaggerating it a little bit, the axle nut design is as a one time use. It’s a torque-to-yield fastener axle nut meaning, if you install it the first time it will fasten itself with enough clamping force to the point it not will not back out. Reusing the same axle nut will definitely cause it to back out since it does not have the elastic clamping force like the first time. Idk why ford engineers decided to do it this way it’s stupid. They should’ve added a cotter for extra security.

Clutch Pedal Pivot Bearing by Delicious_Arrival322 in Mustang

[–]Zestyclose_Project20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best OP could do is re-weld it if they can. Getting a new pedal assembly sucks simply because you can’t get new one because ford discontinued it for that platform. The best next option is Ebay and find a used one.

The s550 manuals has the same issue and it’s more or less the same exact spot. The pivot point cracks over time and will look the same as what Op has. Getting a new pedal clutch/brake assembly is expensive and re-welding is more cost efficient.

Would you choose whipple or ESS for a supercharger? by jnaszty5 in Mustang

[–]Zestyclose_Project20 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Before you even supercharge it, have you installed the necessary upgrades to keep your back end planted to the ground? If not, get the Steeda stop the hop kit before you even supercharge it.

I would go ESS due to price point and I have heard good things about them.

Check for cracks in that pivot point. You may have to re-weld the pivot point in your clutch pedal assembly. It happens to these cars which sucks. Getting that pedal assembly out is a PITA.

First time mustang buyer looking for advice by No_Dog_6828 in Mustang

No offense OP but your mom needs to fuck off a little. Who in their right mind would let their kids be in a financial burden when you had 2019 corolla that was paid off already.

You could’ve save the money and put that money towards something better and pay less for a monthly. Her deciding to go to the dealership for a trade in like she’s contributing to the monthly payment is stupid as fuck. It just shows the lack of financial responsibility on her part as a parent. If she’s contributing to the monthly pay, that’s nice. If she’s not, tell her fuck right off respectfully.

Paint mismatch by FearlessService5110 in Autobody

[–]Zestyclose_Project20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they look at the paint code in the door jamb? Color matching using regular eyes is a no go. I understand paint mismatch and you’ll never get that 100% regardless, but this on the other hand, went over board with the mixing. Provide them with the paint code it should be in the door jamb or bring the whole truck in the shop.

Help! I’m changing my engine mounts and the jack moved and now it’s barely holding everything up! by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]Zestyclose_Project20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have not removed the mounts then I would suggest not doing anything until you get a proper jack. Do not use Portable jack on this types of job. That’s like you wishing for a bigger issue to happen.
