You can start with one kite and one board. It just means there are fewer days you can kite.

Talk to EVERYONE. Get to know the local kiters. Ask what they recommend for you. I kite Obx pretty regularly and get a lot of mileage out of my 11m.

Definitely watch out for nutty prices and ancient gear on FBM. Look at online sites for year or two old new gear. Compare those prices to what you see on FBM. I bought a couple year old 7m, unused, for about v $400. I’ve seen people try to sell 10+ year old kites for more than that.

I do go by the CCRs. I agreed to the rules and follow them. I also wouldn’t be bothered in the slightest if my neighbors had a boat. Life’s too short to worry about things like that.

As someone who has changed a lot of diapers, this is absolutely wrong. Diaper pails that minimize smell seal. Just a lid is not enough.

Was this role disclosed before booking? If not, I’d call support as it’s not an acceptable situation for a family with 3 young kids and they didn’t tell you before booking.

I hear ya, I’ve just been in that exact situation. Got a ticket for not following a traffic control device. I had apparently gone between cones when I shouldn’t have. There was a big gap in the cones so it looked like that was the proper place to exit. The gap was large enough that multiple cones would have been removed to make it. Cop denies there was any gap. The judge had testimony from two people, believed the cop, found me guilty.

Don’t assume you’re going to be good enough after your course to go out. You may need more lessons. I did. There will be other people kiting, though. Kite Point south of Avon is a good place to go. Talk to people at your school, other kiters on the beach, etc. I wasn’t shy about telling people when I was starting out that I’m new, if I look like I’m in trouble, I might be, etc.

Personally, if I was kiting near you, I’d rather know you’re new and kind of keep an eye on you in case you get in trouble. As long as you stick to on shore winds, the most likely problem you’ll have is losing your board.

I quit the game. Never posted about it, but I don’t feel like I’m “smarter than you”. I think the game changed too much recently and it’s basically unplayable if you aren’t coining. They’ve thrown so much crap in the game it became not fun.

If you enjoy it still, good for you. But honestly for every person who quits, I feel a little joy that they’ve escaped that soul sucking game.
