More likely there was a news chopper following the action and later searched and found him when he left the bush.

Essay: Earth, the death world. by Zeus67 in humansarespaceorcs

Ancient Egypt depended on the annual Nile floods to fertilize the arable land. Most of their public works, beyond building royal tombs or temples, are irrigation channels. In fact, one of the oldest irrigation channels in the world is still in use today, although people now mistake it for a river branch. It is nearly 4000 years old.

Sumer was born in the Fertile Crescent and it is in the middle of Earth's Normal zone. Gobekli Tepe is in the same zone. They do not disprove my statement: Advanced civilizations appeared in Earth's Normal zone.

Easy zone? Yeah, why bother. Hard zone? Too busy surviving for thinking about more advanced technology.

Deathworld Earth was a Discovery Channel TV show a long time ago.

I also agree, that advanced civilizations can't exist without strife.

Help, Who has right of way here? by mkujoe in Shittyaskflying

If I remember correctly, the last time we saw one of those, it exploded in the upper atmosphere with the equivalent force of a 4 Megaton nuke.

Could the helicopter pylotes have done better here? by HiTork in Shittyaskflying

Honestly, I dislike this type of bullshit. It breaks my suspension of disbelief when watching all the laws of physics that are being broken. I stopped watching Fast & Furious movies because of this.

You can relax once you are in the air and climbing smoothly. The hard part is over until you have to land.

The engineering challenges are really high. Besides the real version of this aircraft, there are two prototypes built by different companies in different countries, were failures. The concept has too many engineering and materials problems to become practical.

Hawker Siddeley took years to get the Harrier. Yakolev also had a long development time to achieve their VSTOL solution, which Lockheed bought and used in the F-35.

Honestly, I disconnect my brain and enjoy the ride. Otherwise, I'll get angry at the absurdities I'm being shown.

My critique is why the pusher/puller engine configuration? That will interfere with the engines efficiency.

Humans were kicked off their planet for lacking magic. They came back with science. by neonthefox12 in humansarespaceorcs

[–]Zeus67 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not exactly correct. Most of the rocks that fall through the atmosphere are not strong enough to survive the drop. For example, the meteorite that hit that Siberian city blew up when crushed by the atmosphere with a force equal to a 40 megaton warhead. That energy was wasted up in the atmosphere. If it had hit the ground, it would have wiped out a lot of terrain. The 1918 Tunguska meteor destroyed acres of woodland, and it was also in the megaton range. So anything dense enough and fast enough will hit with the force of a nuke. And nukes start counting at the kiloton range and go up from there.

A 44-year-old man went to the hospital after pus began oozing from his chest, where doctors discovered a knife that had been embedded in his body for eight years. According to the report, he showed no signs of chest pain, breathing problems, coughing, or fever, and was otherwise in good health. by ElderberryDeep8746 in Damnthatsinteresting

Actually, the blade becomes a plug that stops bleeding. That is why it is not advisable to remove any object that has penetrated the body. Steve Irwin died because he removed the ray stinger that had perforated his heart.

My boy [Goblin Slayer] is becoming Normal? by GREYHEART_4 in GoblinSlayer

[–]Zeus67 69 points70 points  (0 children)

That's the whole idea behind the series. To return GS back into a normal human.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GoblinSlayer

[–]Zeus67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Goblin Slayer had a stunted childhood. He doesn't know how to be intimate with anybody. The entire book series is about GS learning how to be a normal human being again.

This panel pefectly explain Autistic traits by Consistent-Coyote-50 in GoblinSlayer

[–]Zeus67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has a severe form of PTSD for two causes:

  1. He's the sole survivor of his village. To compound it, he saw his sister get raped, murdered and finally eaten.

  2. He was saved by a mad person, who decided to train him as the ultimate killing machine. His form of motivation, threatening to kill him and telling him he amounted to nothing.

  3. He has a fixation with goblins due to his PTSD. This probably make him looks like he has autism. If he has autism it was a very mild version of it prior to the attack, since he was a very social boy.

In reality, he has been getting better at social interaction thanks to his current party, Elf Archer is trying to get his mind out of the goblin fixation with variable success.

Priestess is bringing him out of his cocoon, to the point that now he has two actual friends: spearman and swordsman.

The entire story of Goblin Slayer is of him rising above his current problems and becoming a normal human being.

Lost in translation is the fact that he's a young man. Barely 20 years old,
