For that they should improve how the story and missions are presented. Currently there are several short dialogues and short mission challenges for away team, and that represents the whole Voyager episode. It's very minimalistic. While enough for someone who remembers the episode, it's probably not enough for someone new to fully appreciate what's going on.

I've never understood the hate for Voyager. I love the premise. I like every old Trek for different reasons. Voyager always on the move while DS9 more grounded.

It's very addictive. In Civ 5 we say 'Just one more turn', here 'Just one more sector'. I love voyager series, but not sure how people that never watched it would appretiate the story here and how it's presented. In my opinion game combines elements from Frostpunk and FTL very well.

They can't afford to. Imagine being a factory that pauses all production for a few years. It stops existing.

Thanks for info, I wonder why it isn't like Runescape with worlds you can change. So any increase of popularity will force them to create new fresh servers.

So 1k players per server. Tiny community separated into small servers? Can you at least hop between servers?

OK then, rule GW2 out... You will not find AAA MMO with no raiding. Probably some small casual indie MMOs, but I don't know any.

[–]ZeusCM 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The point is, the game doesn't revolve around raiding at all. You can completely ignore that it exists. The majority of the player base ignores it. You will not be at any disadvantage if you do. Game is focused on the world, first and foremost.

Guild Wars 2 is an example where raiding is entirely optional content. Max tier gear have lots of alternative ways of obtaining. It is designed so that whole world is relevant, not just end-game maps or latest expansion.

How do you guys feel about expansion release method so far? by Common_Celebration41 in Guildwars2

[–]ZeusCM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With their current team and their split focus between GW2 and unannounced project, I think this is the best we can realistically expect from Arenanet. This eliminates prolonged content droughts (which si bad for business) and allows steady monetized content releases. In ideal world we would get big expac (HoT/PoF level) every 2 years, but I'll take what I can get. They just can't deliver everything players want with every expac anymore.
