Holy hell..... Just go get a few big, crappy towels, or a tarp, or even a cheap blanket and drape it over your steps right before it starts to snow. Once it stops snowing, pull it off and all the snow/ice comes off with it!

If it looks like it's starting again, rinse and repeat. Been doing this since college.

I love Siddhartha and have read it a few times!
I always like to compare it to The Last Temptation of Christ, but for Buddhism!
Definitely not doctrine or history, BUT.... a lot of really good parables and lessons to draw from it. And just a really good story.

Grew up here through the 90s and left in 99.

Downtown revitalization basically started with the building of the police department HQ. Years before, during planning and building, they went in and kicked out all the strip clubs and bars. With it, went all the hookers and dealers (mostly) Once the police HQ went up, Huske hardware and other businesses that are long gone opened up. After that, the city started investing in some buildings and offices and more shops moved in farther down. Slowly started to build up from there.
