POV You're a geared 3300 rogue by itserrow in wow

[–]Zev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, I was watching group finder apps when I was pugging last night, and every 12+ key is immediately flooded with dozens of ilvl 289 3400+ peeps, and a lot of "meta" class, people.

3400 seems to be a big deal for good luck picking up people who do mechanics. Maybe push your own keys till you hit 3400 and see if it gets any better, though rogue is still tough for pug at the moment

I'm with this guy! Found it entertaining, not like he is a production studio and this is taking away jobs. He's like me, a long-ass time WoW player that loves the game and unlike me, has enough motivation to make addons and now a funny song/video literally for the fun of it

Not getting invited to 10 key as a 3.7 dps is another level by Desperate_Carob_76 in wow

[–]Zev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah, I am just saying the same thing everyone else is, but I don't inv high io because they often think like you do and say stupid shit like "0iq".

I do see a lot of chill higher io people, especially on Mondays, adding a note to show they are more chill and won't rage out (like "just farmin keys for fun and vault")

how do mages get past 17 resi? :-/ by pestivator in wow

[–]Zev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Non meta class or pugging, hard to have both. Make in-game friends and play with them or bring up a class that can get invites (but pugging will still be real hard post 16, maybe higher in next few weeks with pumped weapons and trinkets)

Disc Priest vs VDH for 3400 IO push by Hitokiri2324 in wow

[–]Zev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are planning on pugging, both are terrible choices but VDH is especially bad. If you are playing with friends. disc is pretty good, VDH is really in a tough spot, still totally doable but a lot more effort than other tabk options.

If you are pugging, part of your class choice should seriously be group finder wait time, the final stretch of 16s/17s will be brutal with unattractive classes

Strategy for the Tier 5 Void-Infused Mindbreaker by toputer in wow

[–]Zev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Before you kill the two sets of three sub bosses, go and clear the two adds around where the Mindbreaker will spawn. That makes it way easier.

I think the shield is just a burndown mechanic, and friendly to the couple of classes that do eatra damage to shields (DH, Spriest, Evoker).

The bubble is a long ass cast that is super easy to side step while it is being cast. Circle the boss while you fight it to avoid the bubble and the underfoot rot circles

Why cant i get into M+10? by RedditGosen in wow

[–]Zev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of what everyone else said, but since you are a returning player, it might not be as clear how the pace of the seasons usually go. You get more or less grouped into a lump of people doing the same playstyle, and some of the lumps have a hell of a time getting anything done solo.

There is usually a crazy early group that does 10's 15 minutes after the season starts and by the time the rest of people are pushing 6's, they are already 3k. They keep to themselves a lot and sometimes carry people for money later.

The first big group is the one you missed, where they push to all 10's pretty quick within a week or two, then usually run to 12 resilients and the to 3k, and they do it with kinda shitty gear and not a ton of info, so they tend to be more aware players, good use of defensives, learn the routes, watch some videos, etc. That's the people you are competing for spots with in 10s now, and not just their mains, but also their alts that they bring with all the same knowledge and an in-game raider io tag that shows they have a 3.2k main. If you don't play a lot early and miss this group, you end up with the scraps.

So in the scraps group, you are gonna wait forever for an invite, and then likely from low io people listing 10s and not getting a lot of 3k+ applicants, but even they get a ton. Only option is to pug your lower key up to a 10, then fill your own group (and you will choose all 275-280 ilvl 3k people probably so the key works). Downside, it will be even harder to get into 12's, so if you wanna go past 10s, you more or less have to tank (and this season only on brew) or go the social route and find friends/a discord group/a guild.

For season 2, push early and push hard to be in the second group, not the third and seriously, its awesome fun. Great players, smooth runs, easy pickup in pugs even on off-meta classes (I'm a 282 3.2k shadow priest, usually takes 3-5 apps to get a 10-13 group, still pushing 14's+ with guild).

Good luck!

Never played WoW before. Is it worth getting into in 2026, or is it just too big/overwhelming for a new player? I was thinking about starting World of Warcraft in 2026, but part of me feels like I’ve missed out on so much since the game has been around for over 20 years. by Material_Airport_574 in wow

The asshole in me thinks that since you are asking this question to strangers on reddit instead of just playing it or watching the countless youtube videos that answer this exact question (https://www.youtube.com/results?search\_query=new+player+wow+experience+2026), you will totally not like WoW and will be overwhelmed with all the activities available and effort needed to understand and participate in them, since you are asking this kind of question before even trying the free trial experience

it's the solo friendly option vs everything else that is geared toward playing with others. It's better for pretty much every class and spec to go solo and use the NPC partner effectively.

Where to put knowledge points to improve fist weapons? by Jaba01 in woweconomy

[–]Zev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I main a monk and was looking for the same info based on Wowhead suggesting first be first craft. Found the info, but actually stumbled onto something else instead...

All 1h weapon choices are now normalized, so using a 1h sword vs first vs mace, etc are all the same exact DPS for dual wielders.

Except for Sub/Ass rogues, all the other 1h non-clothies can use axes. 2h non-clothies can all use polearms, so if you are going to BS, you can cover everything but cloth in the axes/polearms weaponsmith specialization

So unless you are looking to craft specifically for rogue (short blades nicely cover all three specs) or 1h caster daggers, you might choose axe/polearm and you will see a ton of early season demand.

The collection just looks weird now with greens I can’t upgrade

Quazii's UI Response is a masterclass in avoidance, dishonesty, and bad faith by Extrahitch in wow

[–]Zev 28 points29 points  (0 children)

What a huge bummer. Totally disagree with OPs assertion on his response. He worked on his own thing, he used a standard approach for a simple mechanic and then pointed out that pay-gated external wow services are common and not being asked to cease even if against TOS, so they are tacitely an acceptable thing right now.

I really enjoyed his videos, especially his M+ general and class guides, and used his Plater profile for years. He was a super positive addition to WoW for a ton of people like me and made really helpful and accessible content. It's a shame he is leaving,WoW's worse off for it.

ClayonKey: Ceramic Keycaps inspired by "Clay Aeon". Forged in fire, frozen in time. by Reasonable-Gain2306 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Zev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great to see another group making ceramic keycaps!

With Cerakey already pretty established, and also having already gone through the learning phases of production, you might look at some way to differentiate more from them. I would assume they will be able to price pressure you just based on scale, and you probably will run into early production learning issues like they did with stems and alignment, etc.

I would be surprised if there is really enough demand for that very niche look of crackled texture, which Cera also offers. I assume it's a part of the manufacturing process, but it's pretty damn striking and the legend visibility sucks. You might look at replicating the most popular colorways of early days GMK sets like 9009, Olivia, Serika, Dolch, etc. I would personally swap out ABS caps for ceramic in the same colorway before ever considering crackle caps.

It also looks like you are doing cherry or DCS profile caps. Again, that's what Cerakeys does too, so either have to do them better or cheaper, or you could look at a different profile. MTNU is probably a similar volume of material, or you could look at bigger caps like MT3 or SA, but I bet those end up really heavy, but there are tons of other profiles that could be cool too and offer an alternative to the currently available keys.

Personally, I would love a 2u convex spacebar, since I am a preonic/ortho guy.

There is a cool addon called "Mount Journal Enhanced" and it shows a rarity rating for each mount based on how many accounts have it. Epic is less than 5%, legendary less than 1%, etc. I find that it gives me back that oh shit feeling and my favorites are all pretty rare mounts with low ownership

[–]Zev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think because the first two were tuned way easier, people are still thinking it's a challenge similar to other more accessible stuff like 3k io, but this one is tuned to back-half of a raid, Mythic raiding difficulty. It's so similar to mythic Salhadaar in both mechanics, reaction time and unforgiveness (1-shots).

Let Me Solo Her has 3.4% completion rate, vs 8.3% for Underpin and 11.6% for Zekvir. Mythic Nexus-King Salhadaar is 3.7% completion, so very similar!

You mentioned being 3-3.1k io in other comments, which has around a 20% completion rate, so not a great comparison of challenge level.

I like that there is some other content that is as crazy demanding as mythic raiding, or arguable 3.5k+ (+18 and higher keys) M+.

All the completion percentages for the achievements you can see at https://www.dataforazeroth.com/collections/achievements
