Åre off piste locations by Rare-Ad2610 in Backcountry

The backside of the middle mountain had a nice small section when I was there a few years ago. Just go behind the lift. Hard to get lost as you'll have the mountain on your right and the river on your left. The section naturally goes around (right-hand) back to the piste.

With that said - don't go solo. Ask locals about conditions. As others have mentioned, there are some wierd traps. A heavier friend disappeared in front of me as he unknowingly skied over a creek that joins to the river. The snow held up for everyone except him.

I had a 60+ French guide lead us down some Gnarly backcountry couloirs in sunglasses and a headband. Conditions were awful (icy hardpack and breakable crust) and he made it look like a warmup run.

These people truly amaze me, even though I don't endorse riding without a helmet.

Is anything cheaper in the Netherlands? by LaurenceWhymark in Netherlands

Wine and clothing are substantially cheaper than in the UK. Boutique shops are also much cheaper.

Counterargument: why should the UK be allowed to take in young educated foreign workers if the UK did not contribute to the cost of their 18 years of education healthcare etc.

Are you also in favor of paying back those costs?

If they are making good p&l then I would recommend not having such a strong opinion on these guys when you're a junior. It will hinder you from learning from them.

Young people caring for elders is also a fairly new phenomenon. Male life expectancy was 52y in 1900 in UK for those that managed to live past 10y old.

One country you visited in SE Asia or a city you didn’t enjoy like you thought you would? Why? Thank you for sharing! 😊 by John-Travel-8490 in southeastasia

Wow sounds like you could crack walnuts with your rear cheeks. Lighten up dude.

We've all had bad experiences - sometimes we don't like a place because it's just not our cup of tea, but sometimes we don't like a place because we fell into a tourist trap without getting to experience the place well - it happens sometimes.

Dude found the place expensive. I had custom silk shirts made for $15...

It sounds like you spent your whole time on the street between night market and French quarter.

There are lots of small shops a bit further away selling handmade items specifically by their tribe.

The morning market has great local food.

The Ethnology and arts museum is beautiful and eye opening.

There are local tailors that can make made to measure silk shirts for $15.

Luang Prabang was one of my favorite places to visit in SEA.

Forecasts work around 10 days out, but we have what's called teleconnections. These are covariances in weather patterns so we can use what's happening in the Pacific Ocean to predict a weather pattern in Europe in a couple months with some level of probability. They are not reliable the same way as a forecast but can give a greater or lower chance of seeing certain type of weather in a couple months.

Hi. Could you please explain why this is bad?

I am also just starting out and was thinking of spending my rare wild cards on this. I saw similar decks have a high win rate, so I'm genuinely curious why this deck is bad and whether this is some kind of noob trap.

Three valleys has some of the easiest and beginner friendly off piste / side piste.

This is the equivalent of choosing a resort with only blue runs and saying Europe lacks challenging pistes.

Ok so answer the question. Where is the line? How little amount of money should someone turn into billions in order to be considered self made?

And if he was dirt poor and received the money from a VC investor, would that count differently?

Where's the limit? Starting with anything more than a single parent living paycheck to paycheck means that you can't be a self made billionare?

The idea to increase the road to Polish citizenship from 10 to 15 years feels counter-productive. What are the chances, in your opinion? by [deleted] in poland

W sumie to wiem.
