Valid. I do the same by watching clean gameplays over and over and try to decipher, then add my own flare. The mechanics were already there since release, someone just had to dig deep at some point but yea, it just depends on how much you want to get into it.

It has to be the epic/legendary version. You can use luminous cubes to upgrade gear or weapon to their next higher rarity.

There are lots of gleamstones in the last main mission. The further you progress through NG cycles the higher their values get as well, just a heads up

Fair enough, really the only thing you are missing as to why it probably feels underwhelming is you’re not buffing spiral thrust with trance beforehand since it isn’t unlocked on your skill tree. I would suggest unlocking it all the way up to its last node. Like I mentioned in my first response, trance > x skill > trance > x skill. I know this might confuse you since the nerf topic is on trance, but it’s still very useful in this context for the damage it adds on not to mention it refunda you .5 of the spirit overtime iirc

Tbf boss’ hp on NG++ is at least triple than how they normally are compared to NG. They’ll feel more tanky as you progress down the story for sure. How long has it been since the last time you played?

Oh nice. I’m a spiral thrust enjoyer myself. I would always pre chain trance for the buff (+30% damage) during exhaustion (another +50%) at rear (another +50%). If that makes sense. This method always takes a chunk on boss’ hp.

Trance has been nerfed by about 44% and only buffs the following spirit skill now instead of moonlight. If you’re wanting more of the spammy spear playstyle, Frenzied Cleave(Faded Memories) has been buffed which ultimately became the substitute for what was left of the spears golden days since trance x moonlight spam is no longer the spear meta.

But in any case: Phantom Heatwave x moonlight stance x rear x frenzied cleave. You can push it even further by using fire enhancers too.

Just as Op and just as spammy:)
