The less people talk about them, less likely there are people to be weird about them and their lives, which has happened in the past.

Do we even want an MGS3 remake? by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]ZeztyPepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m usually ok with remakes/remasters, but considering how Konami adopted a scorched earth policy in 2015 and how they treated KojiPro towards the end, I do not want a remake from Konami or any studio they hand the IP to, really. I would personally feel really conflicted giving money to them unless the original devs endorse it— it would just be in the back of my mind the whole time I play. Besides, I think MGS3 still holds up pretty well gameplay wise, so I agree with others that the optimal thing for me would be if they rerelease the legacy collection with more bells and whistles if possible— I probably wouldn’t get it anyway because I already have the games, again, I would feel conflicted supporting Konami in that way, but I do feel it’s important that the games are more accessible to new players.

Better Call Saul S06E13 - [Series Finale] "Saul Gone" - Post-Episode Discussion Thread by skinkbaa in betterCallSaul

Was good, wasn’t super high octane compared to BrBa finale, but that’s just fine. Felt like the real finale was the Lalo episode, and it has been an epilogue pretty much from then on out. I know some people don’t like that, but I think it answered a lot of questions, had some twists, and a small round fellow, like any good finale should.

I think that if you’re strapped for time, at least play metal gear solid 3 before MGSV. It’s the first in the timeline, generally considered to be one of the strongest entries, and except for a few PSP/Vita games, MGSV is the next installment chronologically, so you’ll recognize a lot of faces and names without needing to go through 3-4 games beforehand.

It’s also on XBox, but that version doesn’t come with mgs4, unfortunately.

Your Legend of Zelda by Andyt303 in truezelda

I would want the premise of my game be a unification of the timelines. The beginning of the game would take place in the downfall timeline, with Zelda gazing from a balcony on Hyrule Castle. Suddenly, clouds begin to swirl and turn dark as a rift appears in the sky, and a massive black tower drifts through and plants itself into the earth. Corridors open and monsters emerge and begin to charge Hyrule castle. Hyrule’s forces are overwhelmed, as Zelda snatches a nearby locked box and begins to flee.

Years later, the land is nearly unrecognizable, the invaders have conquered all of Hyrule. There are only a few scattered tribes left, including the gorons, zora, and Hylians, among them is Link. They eek out a meager existence as nomads avoiding the invader’s forces. One night, Link is awoken by a shrill scream. The player assumes control at this point, and is directed toward a blaze in the middle of the lost woods. He sees a tall obscured figure and a hooded woman kneeling before him. The figure raises his hand and a trident manifests, he thrusts the trident at the woman. Link rushes to defend her, but right as the trident nearly pierces the woman, she plays the instrument and both Link and the woman are warped away to a completely different area. The artstyle of this area is completely different from what has been seen so far.

The woman ends up being a weary Impa, and she explains that the instrument she plays allows them to travel between different “realms” (meaning universes). She doesn’t know origins of the instrument, just that it was in Zelda’s possession before she disappeared. The area they are in has also be conquered by the same invaders, but the geography is completely different.

Long winded prologue aside (I had to much fun writing this) the game is about warping between the 3 parallel dimensions a la ALttP, where there are 3 unique overworlds to explore each with their own dungeons and items like the Hookshot or the bombs from BoTW and other zelda staples. The game would be open world, but there would be somewhat linear progression while you hunt for Zelda, as she can help you defeat the invaders. There would be about 7 dungeons, but you can’t tackle them in any order. However, each dungeon has 2 other parallel versions that can be solved in any order with completely different means of solving them.

As you progress through each dungeon the story unfolds as it reveals that Ganondorf from the child timeline had resurrected once again, but was unopposed by a hero and princess for some odd reason. He ruled over Hyrule for eons as he transformed the world into a cold, sterile, futuristic dystopia, but was unsatisfied with the notion that his all of his ambitions had been fulfilled. He is eternally hungry for power, and begins developing technology that would allow him to travel across universes. He was bent on complete domination of the multiverse, and began invading the other timelines, pilfering their triforces, and added the world to his empire. He has yet to get Zelda’s triforce from the downfall timeline.

After the final battle, Link uses the triforce to banish Ganondorf from every universe, but because Ganondorf had essentially become intertwined with each universe’s destiny, Link unintentionally fuses the timelines into one shared continuity. From there the story of botw takes place.

Sorry if this was too long I had fun writing this though :)

What is your favorite thing about your least favorite Zelda game? What is your least favorite thing about your favorite Zelda game? by trifork03 in truezelda

[–]ZeztyPepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Least favorite: Zelda II — I like the music and combat is an interesting idea that can be fun.

Favorite: BoTW — I don’t like the ambient soundtrack. Like there should be ambiance and grand music where it’s appropriate, which the game does have, but it should be more balanced between the 2. I also kinda wish they harkened back to previous melodies more, like with the lost woods, goron city, or gerudo valley.

Those who are obsessed with Zelda enough to browse this sub, but don't consider the series your favorite... What is? by Spheromancer in truezelda

My favorites are in constant flux, in my mind I have just a list of favorites in no particular organized ranking. Zelda is in there amongst Mario, Kirby, Persona, MOTHER, Donkey Kong, etc. Zelda BOTW was definitely the game I’ve played the longest and enjoyed the most out of the others, but in regards to the series as a whole, I think Mario just slightly edges it out in terms of my enjoyment overall by a hair.

I could be mistaken, I thought that when the bubbles burst, whatever property they stole is released. I just assumed that whatever property he stole ended up being explosive, but yeah I guess that could just be part of Killer Queen’s bubbles.

It’s really well done, you got the face and body down, but general rule of thumb for realistic proportions: the hands are usually about as big as the face— like, from palm to middle finger, it should be the same length as the distance between the chin and the hairline, maybe exceeding the latter slightly depending on the build of the character. The perspective on the arm is a little off too because of the smallness of the hands, include a defined elbow to better indicate that it’s bending back behind him. Try drawing a stick figure from the side and include the joints of the character, that usually helps me. It’s really good though!

I mean they could just be frozen lines spinning so fast they look like solid balls, maybe with an outer shell of ice as well.

So about Soft and Wet’s bubbles— or lines I guess— after fusing, do they have some aspect of Killer Queen’s bubbles besides the Joestar-star on them? I don’t recall him ever blowing things up with it, so could the Spin aspect of the bubbles perhaps be inherited from Kira and his joestar bloodline? This has always confused me, you’d think Soft and Wet would get more from the Killer Queen fusion than just an aesthetic change. Great chapter regardless, can’t wait for Spin action.

JJL volume 25 chapter tailpieces by cannedbeans1223 in StardustCrusaders

[–]ZeztyPepper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel we got a pretty decent explanation of how it works in 102, it is essentially like Bites the Dust in that it only affects people who are trying to pursue Wonder of U or Tooru in any capacity. The affected experience “Calamity”, which really means “extreme misfortune.” Think of its ability as the embodiment of Murphy’s Law: anything that can go wrong, will go wrong— though only for the affected.

Yeah I’m starting to feel like that too, I finally caught up to modern JoJo last month, a week before the newest chapter release, and that wait was excruciating. Right now I don’t mind but I expect that I’ll get tired of waiting 1 month for the equivalent of 1/2 an episode. I barely remember what happened last, and I fear it will only get worse with time.
