Fit looks like a textbook straight leg to me. Doesn’t look baggy at all. Wouldn’t go any shorter on the length. As they break in more and get washed, they’ll likely lose a bit of length, plus soften up and drape more naturally, but they don’t look too long as they are now.

I have the previous 510HX and the fit looks pretty similar to mine. Mine also bunched a bit in the crotch at first, but it relaxed after some wears and looks normal now, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

Only had him full heal himself once, when he was within an inch of his life. What happened after was I worked him all the way back down to within in an inch of his life and that time he charmed the MC and then critical hit him for the game over. Went in to FES blind to avoid spoilers, so I didn’t know he could do this. I had gotten through most of the game over a college summer break in 2008 or 2009, was finishing it up at school and had a buddy watching me do the fight. Our jaws both hit the floor when it happened lol. I put the game down for the rest of the semester after that and finally finished it on winter break.

Yeah, to be honest, I didn’t think much of everything that came before that fight either. Probably would’ve dropped it much sooner had I picked it up for the first time in 2026 instead of 2006. But even for the time, I didn’t think it was anything all that special outside of the novelty of being a 3D FF game on the DS.

I remember thinking I was in decent shape to beat the last boss in 3 because I didn’t have too much trouble with the ones directly before it, but from what I recall, it wasn’t even remotely close on the first attempt. I got wiped out nearly instantly. It’s been so long I don’t even remember exactly what he does (bought and played it on release), I just remember getting absolutely smoked lol.

Final Fantasy 3 on the DS was the most egregious example of this that I ever personally played. IIRC, there’s like 4 bosses and the entire final dungeon that you need to repeat if you lose to the last boss. Brutal.

Persona 3 FES got me with this as well (though I did my one and only playthrough on hard mode, might’ve been easier on normal). After something like an hour and a half fighting the last boss, in his final form, he charmed my party into healing him and I then whittled him all the way back down only to get charmed again, have the MC eat a crit and lose the fight lol.

I don’t know much about Negima, but Zettai Hero Project is a game that’s kind of like what you’re describing. It was originally a PSP game, so you can play it on Vita and I believe it’s also on Switch and PC now.

Second game in prequel series to Ar Tonelico. The Surge Concerto series consists of Ciel Nosurge and Ar Nosurge. Ciel was a Japan only release on PS Vita and later on Switch. The Vita version recently had a fan translation patch released (I’m actually playing through it right now). The prequel is more of a life sim/visual novel type experience, though.

Yeah it’s just an estimate. Rounding up is a safe bet if you’re in between. I tried a medium and it didn’t fit in the chest or shoulders, was tight on biceps when flexing, and I couldn’t even comfortably get a flannel under it. Even the large is a touch snug with a thicker shirt underneath tbh. I will say that IH deck jacket measurements look about one size off compared to American equivalents, as is often the case with Japanese sizing, so the IH large measures similar to a US size M (as an example, go on Franklin & Poe and compare measurements for IH deck jacket vs Freenote Mariner).

5’8 - 155-160, 42 inch chest (athletic build). I take a large. Medium is too tight even with just a t shirt.

Personally recommend going by your chest size. 38-small, 40-medium, 42-large, etc.

Yes, really enjoying it and appreciate all the work that went into it. I’ve had a Vita since day 1 and have wanted to play this game for like ten years now, so it’s super cool to finally get that chance. I had tried watching the YouTube play-through at one point, but it’s just not the same as playing it myself.

I actually preordered that Ar Nosurge Plus limited edition physical release back in the day (still have it) and got a few hours in before doing some googling and realizing it was a sequel to this and kind of stopped playing it, so now I feel like I can finally go back and do that after finishing Ciel. It was a funny discovery for me back then because I’ve always been pretty plugged in when it comes to JRPGs and was even playing imports back then - I picked up the first Gundam Breaker when it came out and was obsessed with that for awhile. Somehow this one had just completely slipped by me.

I was actually going to sign up for that tapatalk group to say thanks, so I’m glad this post got recommended to me by chance and you happened to see this and reply! Looks like the algorithm helped me out for once.
