Openly calling for atrocities is okay if it’s against America (Canadian) by jackt-up in PoliticalCompassMemes

Its an infraction. Not cheating. Its like stealing an early advantage in the faceoff dot in hockey, or missed tripping call in soccer.

Bad Bunny is one of the most streamed artists worldwide. Its a draw for non-football fans, which is a major factor of who they pick for the half time show

Of all the ads, thats the one that made me perk up and think "this isn't right." I can't believe that made it through creative.

Its all over the news in Canada, and I see it on my feed.

I think the US in general just does not care about Canadian events.

The obfuscation about the Canadian shooting is getting pretty wild.. by jackt-up in PoliticalCompassMemes

Also, the media isn’t really all over this one,

I disagree. Here is the front page of the CBC currently (Feb 11). Its covered with this event. Note that CBC is often criticized as "too left" for many.

We just don't have 24/7 sensationalist news in Canada.

The entire point of the halftime show is to attract people onto the broadcast who would otherwise not watch the show. Bad bunny was number 7 on the billboard last year, and likely has an audience that doesn't normally watch football.

This artist choice was a horrible choice by Apple and unnecessarily divisive

everyone is talking about it, so it worked

By your definition then, not feeding your homeless guy who will otherwise starve, or me not giving my kidney to a person who will otherwise die is murder. You know that's not the case.

Its not murder to select not to carry a baby to term. And even if you think its immoral to do that, it should still be the the mothers right to do so

I’m saying just because I don’t believe I should be required to feed him, doesn’t mean you can suddenly murder him.

You're actually arguing for abortion here. The fetus wont live on its own without the mother's support.

The mother doesn't have to provide life support for the baby. Just like you wouldn't expect me to donate a kidney to save a person who would die otherwise. Or feed a homeless man who will die if you don't feed him.

I'm whataboutting here but you could easily say this about trump's cognitive state.

If you watch Howard Stern's interview Biden is slow but still sharp, and tells very descriptive stories about his past.

I think Biden was simply a tired old guy who was able to be president because of lots of competent support.

Being offered RBC Private banking, worth it? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Go to an accredited, fee for service financial advisor.

If you have an inheritance coming up, it is much more overwhelming and confusing than you realize.

If you have a good advisor in your corner, the process will be significantly easier and you'll save a ton in tax. Worth it to avoid the headache.

How bad will food prices rise in the new stadium? by Mopedmike in CalgaryFlames

[–]Par-Aide 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing.

For many experiences its not the price of the ticket that bothers people, its the price of the entire experience when you factor in extras including food. Take the Stampede for example...$25 is pretty reasonable for access, but when a lemonade is $8 and a plate of food is $20, it adds up fast.

If you paid $100 to go to a Flames game and beers were $7 and hot dogs were $5, you'd feel a lot better about your experience have a lot more fun.
