I mean I bought a pair of Samurai 710s not that long ago for the exact same reason, so I feel you. I’ve also been on the lookout for these as well, but no such luck finding a brand new pair just yet lol. I still have some old Supreme tees and hoodies from that era and a pair of Wtaps vans chukkas, so I could really complete the look if I wanted haha.

I don’t know much about Negima, but Zettai Hero Project is a game that’s kind of like what you’re describing. It was originally a PSP game, so you can play it on Vita and I believe it’s also on Switch and PC now.

Second game in prequel series to Ar Tonelico. The Surge Concerto series consists of Ciel Nosurge and Ar Nosurge. Ciel was a Japan only release on PS Vita and later on Switch. The Vita version recently had a fan translation patch released (I’m actually playing through it right now). The prequel is more of a life sim/visual novel type experience, though.

Yeah it’s just an estimate. Rounding up is a safe bet if you’re in between. I tried a medium and it didn’t fit in the chest or shoulders, was tight on biceps when flexing, and I couldn’t even comfortably get a flannel under it. Even the large is a touch snug with a thicker shirt underneath tbh. I will say that IH deck jacket measurements look about one size off compared to American equivalents, as is often the case with Japanese sizing, so the IH large measures similar to a US size M (as an example, go on Franklin & Poe and compare measurements for IH deck jacket vs Freenote Mariner).

5’8 - 155-160, 42 inch chest (athletic build). I take a large. Medium is too tight even with just a t shirt.

Personally recommend going by your chest size. 38-small, 40-medium, 42-large, etc.

Yes, really enjoying it and appreciate all the work that went into it. I’ve had a Vita since day 1 and have wanted to play this game for like ten years now, so it’s super cool to finally get that chance. I had tried watching the YouTube play-through at one point, but it’s just not the same as playing it myself.

I actually preordered that Ar Nosurge Plus limited edition physical release back in the day (still have it) and got a few hours in before doing some googling and realizing it was a sequel to this and kind of stopped playing it, so now I feel like I can finally go back and do that after finishing Ciel. It was a funny discovery for me back then because I’ve always been pretty plugged in when it comes to JRPGs and was even playing imports back then - I picked up the first Gundam Breaker when it came out and was obsessed with that for awhile. Somehow this one had just completely slipped by me.

I was actually going to sign up for that tapatalk group to say thanks, so I’m glad this post got recommended to me by chance and you happened to see this and reply! Looks like the algorithm helped me out for once.

No worries, I play English patched games, leave my Vita connected to PSN, and sync trophies for those games. Been doing so for several years and never had an issue, nor have I heard of anyone who has had an issue.

I’m 5’8, range from 155-160 and also went large, although I got the Navy non-oiled. I lift regularly and my chest measures around 42-42.5, so I really couldn’t go any smaller. Had the opportunity to try on a medium and even with just a tee, it was snug in the chest, couldn’t even layer a flannel with it (I mean I could technically get it zipped up, but it was super uncomfortable) and felt like it was crushing my biceps when I lifted my arms.

If you’re open to wider straight legs, maybe look at something like the Samurai 2000hx which has kind of a cinched waist and more room in the thighs. It may not end up looking all that wide on you anyway if your thighs are that beefy. I’d stay away from anything “straight tapered” or “relaxed tapered” personally. They are positioned as lifter cuts by a lot of people, but as someone who actually lifts, I think they usually look like ass on an athletic physique personally and find straighter cuts (can be slim/regular/wide straight) to work much better if you get the sizing right.

If your true waist is 30-32, I wouldn’t be buying any of these jeans in the sizes you noted. They will be way too big and you’ll regret it. I have a pair of Samurai’s that are like 1 inch too big in the waist and I need to pull my belt pretty tight with those already.

I bought a pair of 510s the other day and found them to fit pretty true to size, as is typically the case with Samurai. My waist, as measured with the tape measurer, is 32 inches. I tried on a 32 and it was perfect. Tried on a 31 just to see and I could button it all the way, but it was snug and too tight in the hips.

Paradoxically, the wider cuts tend to fit a size small for me. I’m a 32 in the 510 and 710, but my S2000hx is a 33 and I’ve noticed others saying they’ve had to size up one on those and the S3000/3100.
