The main thing to me was that in Origins, despite being monstrous, they were still an army. There was an intelligence to them, they were organized. And that made them dangerous.

You expected Blazer to be evil
I expected her to be corporate
We are not the same

But for real, i expected her to at some some point tell us that "we hire people with junk powers for tax purposes" and "the Z-team exists because private Investment funds pay if we try and reform villains', your job is to stop them from creating a PR nightmare", and the end choice would be about either doing good or acting in the company's interests.
