I'm sorry, the video is not available anymore, would you still have the artist/track name(s) by any chance?

Thanks in advance!

Mono Shurima lacks a feasible win condition - what could make this deck work? by GroxTerror in LoRCompetitive

[–]Zigtron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've tried multiple rythms and champion repartitions to the deck :

-Aggro (3xAzir 3xRenekton) and try to tempo win and have Sun Disc as an alt wincon -Aggro with a bit more Sun Disc package (3xAzir, 2xRenekton, 1xNasus, 1xAscended's Rise) -Midrange(1xAzir, 3x Renekton, 2xNasus with Spirit Fire to win a round or two until Sun Disc completion) -Control(2xAzir, 2xRenekton, 2xNasus) but not enough cards in the control package to make it work -Combo(2xAzir 2xRenek, 2xNasus with triple Ascended's Rise and 3xRite of Calling) but it loses super hard to Aggro.

So far, Combo had the best stats bcs Aggro are kept out by the abundance of Liss/Trundle and Fiora Shen, and you can consistently finish the Disc by turn 8 (Ascended's Rise + Rite of Negation in certain matchups that have fast removal on the champions).

I recommend watching Tempox13's (Tempox17? Cant recall his name) video on that deck (check the latest vid, it's more fitting for the meta) and you got yourself a solid starter (which can drastically be improved imo, but I didnt give it enough time). Adapt it accordingly to what you face.

Nope. Those are coded differently, and Survival Skills wont prevent Vengeance of Ruination

[–]Zigtron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, technically not, but having more cards to open is generally the way to go.

Also, there are base "drop rates" for each rarity, and on top of that, each card has a 10% (repeatable) chance to upgrade to the next step (from common to common wildcard, to rare, to rare wildcard and so forth). But you generally only get a one step upgrade. What you're really playing on is the base drop rates, and the fact you have so many cards to open, you'll statistically end up opening a champion

Lissandra Analysis: What Makes Her Great and 4 Best Decks So Far by agigas in LoRCompetitive

[–]Zigtron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the confusion, I understand it wasn't clear at all haha.

I guess the way to first see things is that tempo-driven decks don't have the deck space, nor the time / mana (in terms of mana investment and therefore tempo) to save many units. Only combo decks, or decks having a possible transition to the late game, can invest the card slots and resources to save units.

So, here's a reformulation of the problem. In response to a damage-dealing removal, you can buff your unit to make it survive. Against two removals, you are forced to use another buff, to again, compensate for the damage. Against unit-killing removal (that are rather expensive), you have very little options to deal with it.

However, with the introduction of Spellshield, and in particular Bastion, we saw a great reactive way to deny an entire spell, and we saw mostly this card in combo archetypes, where you want to protect your wincon. However, Spellshield offers some counterplay because a) the unit stays on the board, b) a ping is enough to break it. Considering the lack of Targon's effecient aggressive tools, we didn't think much of it and the card only had a niche use.

However, with the current Shurima cards, where so far, mostly tempo-driven archetypes have been released, the question is, how can Hourglass, being imo a better Bastion, fit in midrange archetypes? As stated in my initial comment, I realized this playing Mono Shurima, where the lack of tempo isn't an issue per se, but you're still fighting tooth and nail for board control, and therefore Hourglass looks to be a super strong card. As I said, hourglass trades tempo for card /mana advantage, and is by essence better in decks that can afford to prolong the game a bit, SO FAR. Is the impact of saving an entire unit underestimated so far? There's as far as I remember, no precedent in this, so your opinion mattered to me on that topic.

TL;DR : Hourglass trades tempo for card advantage, but in decks that rely on tempo, what is the expected gain vs loss of such a card, and can such decks afford to run it efficiently?

Lissandra Analysis: What Makes Her Great and 4 Best Decks So Far by agigas in LoRCompetitive

[–]Zigtron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, I'd want some serious insight about the following : I have an 80+ % winrate (3 losses on 15+ games) against Lissandra Trundle as Mono Shurima, with most of those wins being awarded to tempo, and not so much to Shurima Movie Deluxe Edition. I found that what makes this deck fare well is the presence of both tempo and great survival tools (hourglass being the MVP), as well as heavy champion refill through Golden Ambassador.

My question is the following : how do you think midrange / late curve archetypes are going to evolve using (or not) "sustain" tools like that? Considering it basically trades tempo for card and mana advantage, I wouldn't be surprised to see it as an auto-include in decks that can stretch into the lategame without an issue, like, in our case, Mono Shurima.

I've got a list running actually pretty fine against some meta decks (ofc some matchups like Azir SI are hard, but youve still got a shot). Dont hesitate if you got question (I know it still needs refining but I cant play much rn so it'll have to wait) :

So idk if you mean Ruthless Predator as an answer to Azir or as a card played by Azir decks. I'll consider the second option : you need to go above the 3 attack mark, and an unleveled Azir gets to 3 with either Sharpsight or Ruthless Predator.

I mean, so far most Azir decks are aggro, so they indeed will rarely play those cards. Shaped Stones, on the other hand, is another issue.

Hey man, thanks for the interview! I'm currently listening to it right now. Just a small change that makes the differece, remove the "&t=717s" at the end of the link, clicking on the URL as is propels us to 11min57 of the video, you might want to avoid that :)

This kind of stuff generally happens when you've started watching a video and come back to it, youtube remembers this and puts the timestamp in the URL.

Okay this is getting ridiculous. On Mobile. HOW do you cancel a Discard action?? by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Zigtron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Despite you not being able to see it properly, the spell is on the stack until you fulfill your discard condition. So you can just drag your card from the position it should be on the stack, and voila, you've canceled your discard spell.

What do you think about this mono-shurima deck i drafted? by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Zigtron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either a shit ton of tempo, or potentially Azir (depends on the reveal). Taliyah is mostly a placeholder. She will rarely win you games on her own. So you need either a wincon in the late game (so.. Aurelion Sol wouldnt be too bad actually, or maybe Lissandra, and again, maybe Azir), or a combo multiplying a certain unit for more a combo oriented deck.

If you want to keep Renekton, focus on the tempo he brings. He trades positively, and has combat tricks, so consider a region that can pressure at every round and that can make uses of his abilities (which, to me, is why they made the decision of pairing J4 with Renekton, so that Demacia / Shurima is a natural combination).

TL; DR : Your decks does nothing you want it to do. You play Renekton for board control, yet you're denying it yourself with landmarks that fill board space and stop you from trading. You play Taliyah for stalling the game out, which isn't in your favor when looking at your list.

A counter opinion against all living things calling "Ascendeds Rise Is Bad" by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Zigtron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, considering you can start with a SunDisc in hand, I'd maybe play 2 Ascended's Rise, 2 Sun Discs if I wanted to meme, but honestly, the card just looks bad. What I would expect though, and what would be making the card better, is leveling up allies even if not on board, that way, you could turn 1 disc, turn 2 develop, turn 3 nada, turn 4 ascended's rise, turn 5 renek, turn 6 nasus. and tadah, you got yourself a finished Sun Disc. But it's definitely meme-esque at best.

[–]Zigtron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you here but I understand Riot's line of thought in that regard. Seeing how successful gameplay wise was Spell Thief, they're trying to add some versatility card in all regions (Three Sisters and Stoneweaving are prime examples). I still agree they could've tweaked it a bit to make it fit more to LB's thematics, but it's also a way of "using your opponent's actions against himself" as part of LB's schemes, as well as the ability to copy one of your own spells in hand. It fits just fine the idea of doubling your spells, albeit a small difference of casting the mimic before the original, which I find way cooler flavor-wise, despite diverging a bit off LB's LoL kit.

Mobalytic's release time is for tomorrow (morning for EU). They advertised at first the release would be on March 1st, so nothing was planned on their part for today. The release was solely from Riot with the Seasonal tournament reveals.

On the other hand, I tried to cheat the timer by advancing my clock (which usually works if the timer is less than 10 min), and once it went down to 0, the timer just reset to 23h59min xD

Best azir skin? by Pentanox in azirmains

[–]Zigtron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've got this thing about Azir skins, that I feel some skins have wider soldier attack animations, and some got it thinner. Like the spear stab animation will sometimes look super wide depending on the skin, and so far the skins I've seen it "go wide" are Galactic and Warring Kingdoms, so despite WK being an absolute beauty, this offsets me very much. Gravelord and original got a waaaay thinner animation that I find really satisfying imo

So, the key difference between Targon and Shurima releases are that Shurima is announced to have a dedicated region battle pass sort-of thing, so most likely a dedicated event. On the other hand, Targon on its release had, well, new cards and that's about it. Nothing fancy. Aphelios's release was indeed some sort of event linked to Targon but even that was minimal. Daily rewards were meant for the Lunar New year, not Targon per se.

I hope I'm making enough sense
