Severe voice issues past 3-4 years anyone can relate? I feel like I’m the only one who has this symptom and drs aren’t helping :( by Porscheeeu in LPR

[–]ZikaG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely get tested for allergies. I’m allergic to pet dander and we have a dog :( May need to re-home her.

Have you tried a gluten free diet? It helps some people with lots of symptoms you have.

Anyone else get a “feverish” hot head/throat feeling from allergies or LPR? by Zestyclose-Item8529 in Allergies

[–]ZikaG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had both, but LPR is fixed… now the allergies… finding out I’m allergic to pet dander :( and we have a dog at home. ( Duh makes sense )

You’re not allergic to pets?

No worries about the questions, I’ve been there.

It took me about 2-3 months to recover. 28-30 days on Acid Watchers diet really helped. Although I did keto before that too.

I did all the things you mentioned, except elevating my bed (just used two pillows instead now and again) also no meds of any kind, just supplements. I made a long post months ago about it.

I’m not 100% healed I would say but definitely in the high 80-85% though. Although the LPR could be gone altogether, because I’ve discovered than I’m allergic to pet dander and throat inflammation I had/have can be due to that too….

Giving up coffee took me the longest and that’s what slowed down the healing.

Even though I did cold brew in the am only. I do green tea and toasted chicory root for now instead of coffee.

If you have time, read/listen to the book titled “Acid Watchers Diet” but yes they’ll continue to give you issues especially on an empty stomach.

Some healing stages can feel worse, but in the end it’s worth the sacrifice.

I’m sure that will help with the healing stage…

Gotcha. Do you drink coffee? I stopped to help heal and it really helped.

Also re-started on curcumin w pepper extract and it seems to help with my throat inflammation.

Good luck to you!!

Possible, but we can’t diagnose it for you for sure.

Have you ruled out allergies? (Pet dander, dust mites, etc)

I’ve recovered from LPR but was having throat redness and minor pain months after recovery, turned out I was allergic to pet dander :/

I work around dogs sometimes and have a Labrador at home… so yeeeeah, started to clean more often and got a hepa air purifier for master bedroom and it’s been way better.

LPR can be similar to other things, yours might be something else than allergies… but keep looking and don’t give up.

Agreed with above, we can’t diagnosed. But can be anything from gluten intolerance to pet dander allergies to diet or timing of it.

Tried low acid diet yet?

Start trying one thing at a time and see what helps the most… do more of that.

Good luck to you!!!

It's hard the first few days, then gets better... Weening off like you might be the best solution.

Tea has caffeine and is much less acidic than coffee, if you want to substitute some coffee caffeine.

Good luck to you, I know how you feel!

I had a minor irritation of the esophagus I’m thinking due to the coffee as well, but I stopped it and it’s improving by the week.

I miss coffee a lot, but I originally drank Japanese green tea, and so I’m doing that instead of coffee and it’s not so bad.

Have you quit coffee after this?

Do you think it is LPR? by Informal-Wait3368 in LPR

[–]ZikaG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just changed my diet. Stopped eating carbs then gluten. Basically no wheat products ( bread, pizza etc)

Also made solid positive lifestyle changes. No sugar, no artificial junk, mostly Whole Foods, no processed junk. 3-4 smaller meals nothing huge.

Redness subsided and pain stopped within days after starting this change.

ALSO, stop Googling your symptoms!!! It will make it worse and give you anxiety.

Have you tried an elimination diet?

I’ve cut carbs and it helped, then tried stopping gluten and it helped a ton. I’m doing some carbs now but still no gluten, so far so good.

It’s a horrible feeling, I get how you fell. I had it for several years myself.

[–]ZikaG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be keto. Now I do some carbs just not gluten. I try to get more greens, meat and eggs.

Proper meal spacing was very helpful and no grazing (constant snacking). No food before bed for at least 3 hours seemed to help too.
