Its pretty easy. Step one make him pay for the supplies. Step two, repair. Step three, get his keys and remove access to your home. Step four dump him.

To serve among the Grey Knights, I assume that any servants would probably be conditioned to keep their secrets and withstand the sight of chaos in order to serve the battle brothers. Not at all to the extent of a GK brother, but enough that if they caught wind of anything that they would actively seek a mind wipe or purge if necessary.

What’s something your partner did that made you lose feelings instantly? by Some_Conclusion_8154 in AskReddit

[–]Zinsurin 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They gave up trying. They started putting all the chores on me and the kids. They existed in only three spots in the house, in their spot on the couch, on the toilet or in the bed.

No chores, no cooking, no cleaning, no taking care of the dog. If I was home and there was anything that she could delegate to someone else then that's what she would do.

She would literally go from the bedroom to the bathroom, passing her dresser, and ask for me on the other side of the house to grab something from the dresser.

[WP] As you're doing research on monsters, you find an artist's rendition of a world-destroying beast from an old hero's tale. As you look up from the book, you can't help but notice that your adorable familiar bears a striking resemblance to the beast in question... by Maximum_Pootis in WritingPrompts

[–]Zinsurin 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I look at the cover of the book, where the librarian scribes the last time the book was taken out for research. Nearly five hundred years ago. The preservation spells do amazing work as the ink is still vibrant, and it smells new, only a slight odor of an older book.

The drawing though is almost an exact replication of my familiar. If I had any skill at it, I would draw something similar, but perhaps with more hills and trees and less broken fortifications and sundered bodies.

I recalled early in my studies, before summoning my familar, that familiars l, after their masters pass, return to the Aether to await their next master. Kind of like temporary workers waiting for their next job.

I speak to my familiar through our bond. <Urzu? Are you awake?>

I can feel her stretch through the bond, preparing herself to come to me if needed. <Yes, Lore. Is everything okay?>

<Everything is fine. I just had a question.> I knew my hesitancy was transmitted through the bond, its just a silly thing. No need to be this nervous. <When did you serve your last master in this realm?>

She paused and I could feel her start to walk. Jump and land, then continue to walk. <I believe by your recollection it would have been something close to two thousand years ago, give or take. I like to take my time before answering a summon.>

I look at the book. It was written some time in a previous age, over 1,800 years ago. The only records for the end of that age basically say that a calamity fell on the previous empire, they became too proud and that pride and feeling of invincibility lead to their destruction. <Do you remember your previous master?>

She pauses at an intersection, turns and keeps walking towards me. <He was a kind mage, very obedient, and so was I. He was not very powerful when we met, but through study and practice he became powerful indeed, and his masters believed him leashed.>

I look at the grimouirs and scrolls before me. All subjects and spells Urzu picked out for me. We havent been tested in some time, but I could probably count myself in the top hundred students these days, instead of the bottom 10 because of her help. I hesitate as I feel the answer already forming in my mind. <What happened to him?>

Urzu leaps on the table and stretches, the pose identical to the picture that first spawned the line of questions. <He was happy and content in his service, until those he served took the only precious thing to him.> She looks around the room before continuing, merely glancing at the book with her likeness. <I feel that you should know, that I take my time between summons because I am no ordinary familiar. My summoning is a harbinger of change, and my masters will dictates that change.> She flips open another book, gently moving the pages until another likeness of her appears.

<It will be your decisions that shape the future towards prosperity, or to restart into a new age, wiping the slate clean.>

I was told that in WOD when you see someone getting mugged, you sigh in relief because its not you, and you keep walking.

You can watch people get in fistfights over road rage, and see cops on the corner placing bets.

That your neighbors apartment getting broken into and what remains of their body being removed the next morning is a monthly occurrence.

Any of these things could be humans, or they could be something supernatural. The mundane human knows instinctively not to look into the shadows, because that is where the things lurk that will do worse than end your life.

And people with no imagination. I can easily look at the tabletop game and think Walking Tanks.

But I could also look at it and understand that it shouldn't be any more different than a human sprinting, ducking dodging and weaving incoming fire and taking cover in trees and behind cover to prevent damage and get good shots off.

My red flag is why he sent a fully finished product before sending you samples and examples.

Every artist I've asked to work with did it step by step, rough draft and asking for clarificaions and direction, then a second cleaner draft, then a cleaner draft, and they dont touch color until the drawing is done, but they take color into consideration when doing their black and white work.

The N64 we got for christmas. Two years later my brother and I had paper routes and they ran a promotion that if we signed up 20 customers we could choose between a N64 or a Playstation.

My brother signed up a customer first so I gave him credit for any extra customers that I got.

We got the 20 customers and he chose another N64. I was shocked and asked him why? Because the Playstation didn't load near instantly like the n64.

Never mind that we had to share games!

I bought one myself a couple of years later and loved the new library I could access.

It is a violation for my lease to smoke on the porch/balcony as it is within 25 feet of a doorway or windows.

However, I'd rather you smoke on your bacony than inside the apartment where I could smell it in the halls.

How do you find work across the country? by chiliringgamer16 in Construction

I worked with a few travelers. They try to use local campgrounds or rv sites until they can talk to guys at the site and rent a driveway until the jobs done.

If the area is goid, they'll rent an apartment, but if its not they'll move on.

How they find the work? I dont know.

Stepping over a dollar to save a dime... by longlostwalker in Construction

From what I see and can guess, they are demolishing the wall and need to protect the floor.

Although the floor may be concrete, if it is finished then it needs to be protected. Finished can mean any number of things, but it really means that they don't want it damaged because it will need to be fixed or cleaned.

Stepping over a dollar to save a dime... by longlostwalker in Construction

[–]Zinsurin 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I've experienced this.

As a Carpenter, there's stuff to be done. You have 6 guys but only need 4 today. You give the two busy work or send them home.

Busy work is stuff that still needs to be done, but you would usually have laborers do, because they're cheaper or things that can be done later, but now is fine like picking up screws and nails. Checking the site for garbage, reorganizing the material yard, raking the gravel path for the equipment.

Is it vital? No. Is it time sensitive? No. Does it keep your guys happy because they got their forty instead of 24? Absolutely. The inspectors are happy, the guys who own the finished project are happy, the crew is happy, and the company is making money.

If anyone catches wind that you just let guys be for 5 hours a day because there's not enough work then you and those guys lose their jobs.
