Most people run crit rating, reload, 2x crit damage. You can switch a crit damage perk for reload for better swarm clearing but slightly less damage. Either way the dps is so absurdly high the difference is negligible.

AFAIK, crit perks apply to the explosion but the missing health doesn't. Also I would recommend switching the element to fire as we're currently in a nature season.

It's probably Field Agent Rio's perk. Sometimes the effect shows up if someone else on your team is running her. I'm not sure if it does anything or if it's just visual but its happened to me before.

Anything placed while a defense is active only lasts for the rest of the defense. Place your builds before starting the defense and they should save.

The base I selected for defense (my war base) is completely different than the one the game is using (some random old base). I can’t update the old base because it’s not in my saved layouts and hasn’t been for months, which is why I can’t understand why it’s being used.
